    St. Joseph's Seminary Collection

For the last 124 years, St. Joseph's Seminary at Dunwoodie has prepared and ordained thousands of holy, dedicated and faithful priests to serve the Church in New York. It is nationally renowned and held in the highest regard by bishops from around the country. Each year, other dioceses and religious orders send their candidates to our priestly formation program. On the weekend of September 26/27 we are asking for your support which will provide tuition, room and board, academic training and spiritual formation for our seminarians. The priesthood is a life of sacrifice and service. Thank you for your generosity and helping to provide for our seminarians who will hand on the life and traditions of the Church as they embark on their training to become your priests. Thank you also for your continued prayers.

Expectant Parents Mass We joyfully invite our Expectant Families to please join us at the 5:30PM Mass on Saturday, October 17th. Each expectant mother and father will receive a Special Blessing. God bless you!

Pray for Vocations! PParents Prayer for Vocations

    Almighty and eternal God,

in your unfailing love you provide

    ministers for your Church.

We pray for those whom you call

to serve the Church of St. Mary

    as priests

Inspire in them a generous response.

Grant them courage and vision to

    serve your people

May their lives and service call your

people to respond to the presence

    of your Spirit among us

that, faithful to the Gospel and

hope of Jesus the Christ, we may:

announce glad tidings to the poor

    proclaim liberty to captives,

    set prisoners free

and renew the face of the earth.

    Discovering Christ Quietism

Was a major heresy. Everything was left to God.

The believer did nothing but pray And receive God’s graces.

Do nothing was their belief, No action necessary.

Simply sit back and reap the Great Reward – Salvation.

Quietism caused a loud bang. As it should, it was silenced.

One’s behavior matters to Our Savior. Faith and good works work.

    by Ralph Capasso

    Every Thursday – 7AM to 7PM Devotion

Come one, come all, Come heed this call.

Stop by and pray a word or two To Him, Who is awaiting you.

This is an opportunity For you, (and also for me)

To offer prayers for those we love For special blessings from above. On this coming Thursday, friends, I hope your travel this way wends.

    ~ Ralph Capasso
