PARISH OUTREACH SERVICES Thanksgiving will soon be upon us, and in preparation, we are requesting your assistance now with donations of nonperishable items. We will distribute food to over 300 families in need in our community and will start packing non perishables in early November. Some of the items we always need more of are: instant mashed potatoes, 2 lb. bags of white rice (not instant or brown rice), dried black beans, canned corn, green beans, salt, sugar, flour, corn oil, boxed cake or cookie mixes. Closer to Thanksgiving distribution we will be accepting fresh produce. If you wish to pledge a Turkey please email our Thanksgiving Food Coordinator, Marie Holland, at [email protected]. When you pledge ahead, this really helps us to know how many additional turkeys we will need to order. We also distribute chickens to small families or elderly people who do not want a large bird. Thank you for helping our neighbors in need. May God continue to bless you with His love and His grace!

THE KING’S MEN Men, are you living day to day and wishing for a greater sense of purpose? Do you seek to deepen your faith or to break some bad habits? Come and see what the Kings Men are about. We are a band of brothers who strengthen one another through faith & fellowship. Meet with us on Tuesdays at 7 PM. Contact: Jim Herlihey, 484-716-1649

COMMUNION AND LIBERATION SCHOOL OF COMMUNITY Meets most Thursday evenings in the Day Room at 7:30 p.m. Communion and Liberation is an ecclesial movement of the Catholic Church begun in Milan in 1954 by Father Luigi Giussani. Today the movement has spread to 90 countries under Father Julian Carron. School of Community consists of reading and personal meditation upon a text, followed by a communal meeting. The method is a constant comparison between the Christian proposal and one’s own life, in order to verify – in light of one’s own experiences – it’s capacity to respond to human needs in every aspect of reality. HELPING REFUGEES IN WAR TORN ANGLOPHONE CAMEROON A civil war is currently going on in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon, the home country of Fr. Wilfred Emeh. Over 3000 people have been killed including two priests and a seminarian. Presbyteries have been targeted; priests and bishops have been kidnapped for a ransom. The war has left over 500,000 people displaced within Cameroon and over 40,000 refugees in Nigeria. Due to the impact of this conflict, five Cameroonian residents in the US and the UK, created a nonprofit organization, Cameroon Humanitarian Relief Initiative (CHRI), which is helping the refugees and the internally displaced. Please, consider making a donation to save lives at www.chrelief.org. Also pray for peace to reign in Anglophone Cameroon. For more information, contact Fr. Emeh at 2402302928 or Dr Alan Tita at 2055426142.
