Keith Barker does an excellent job of seamlessly

switching between the roles of priest, boyfriend, father,

doctor and God while Nicole reacts and draws us in to the

struggles and difficult decisions that she is facing.

Grace thought she wanted a child. Now shes pregnant

and not so sure. In desperation, she prays, and

miraculously, her prayers are answered. But the god

who answers her is not quite what she expected.

For one thing, hes Native...

First produced in Winnipeg in February 1992 by

Theatre Projects Manitoba,Jobs Wifeis a powerful

piece that exposes the raw human need for certainty,

pitted against our unwillingness to see unpleasant truths.

Since then, Nolans work has been seen on stages

across Canada and internationally, including Native

Earth Performing Arts 2008 production ofAnnie Maes

Movementin New Zealand and Australia.

The long overdue Toronto premiere ofJobs Wifefeatures compelling performances by Keith Barker

(Death of a Chief), Nicole Joy Fraser (Raven Stole the

Sun), Falen Johnson (A Very Polite Genocide)and

Jason OBrien (The Elasto Citizens)under the

direction of Donna-Michelle St. Bernard.
