Basic unemployment benefits (100% right) 184.188 kr.Income related 290.366 kr. max.
With each child 7.368 kr.
One period of benefits are 2 1/2 years (30 months).
Unemployment benefits are paid out the first weekday of the month.
Remember to confirm job search between 20. og 25. each month.

Unemployment benefits are not paid if you are abroad – remember to let us know about your travel before you go.
Let know if phone-number or address changes.
You have to come to all meetings we invite you to. Compulsory attendance.
After 6 months unemployed you can get discount at the doctor.

Important information2 months waiting period / 3 months / refusal
Waiting period = no payment!
Main reasons: rejecting a job or a jobinterviewextra income is not declaredgoing abroad without tellingnot coming to interview, meetings etc.
Remember to still confirm online 20-25 of every month.
Part-time or occasional work
Part-time, fixed and regular. Register once.
Occasional, irregular work, let us know every time.Salary less than 59.047 kr does NOT affect benefits.50% of salary over 59.047 kr is taken from benefits.You have to let know about this work BEFORE you do it.
80.047 kr- 59.047= 21.000 / 2= 10.500
Job-search- You are most likely to find work during the first 3 months.
- Only part of available jobs are announced.
- Set yourself a goal in your job-search.
- If you don‘t shoot at the goal you will not score.

Job agents: Interview at the job agent to go through job vacancies.
Job training: You find an interesting workplace. 3 to 6 months contract. Minimum wage or higher.

Study on benefits has to be approved by VMST
Study grant For studies that improve your possibilities to get work. We pay 50% of the course, 100% of Icelandic classes, maximum 70.000 kr. Labour union too.You can apply with a counsellor.
Study contract 10 ECTS or 9 f-units. Counsellors give more information.
