Job Description Teacher Summer 2018 Title: French Teacher Reports to: Academic Coordinator or Language Coordinator Job Summary: A teacher will work closely with the Academic and Language Coordinators regarding curriculum design and implementation. The post holder will be expected to deliver dynamic, stimulating and creative classes to LAS summer Students Reviewed: September 2017 Responsibilities: 1. Works as a supportive, integral member of the LAS Summer staff 2. Assists in the hiring of language staff through referral and recommendations 3. Oversees ongoing development of class subject material 4. Ensures that their classes are of high quality, progressive and are stimulating 5. Participates in LAS Summer Orientation 6. Participates in regular staff meetings. 7. Assists and provides support for assigned Club 8. Assists in afternoon/and/or evening activity programs 9. Ensures that all reports are completed within stated deadlines. 10. Adheres to all LAS Policy and Procedure as outlined in the Staff Handbook 11. Carries out any other duty as assigned by the LAS Summer Director. Competencies: 1. Proactive & Takes initiative: able to work independently, share and generate new ideas. 2. People skills & Teamwork: reaches out to peers and cooperates with supervisors to establish an overall collaborative working relationship. 3. Accountability & Attention to Details: holds oneself and others to desired goals, deadlines & objectives and does not let important details slip through the cracks 4. Enthusiasm & Enjoys working with students: Exhibits passion and excitement over work, has a can-do attitude and enjoys the presence of and working with children of all ages 5. Dedication & Integrity: is willing to share a boarding school lifestyle and always do what is best for the school. 6. Openness to criticism & new ideas: Often solicits feedback and reacts calmly to criticism or negative feedback
