<ul><li><p>Job Description </p><p>Sunday School Teacher and Vacation Bible School Director </p><p>This position reports directly to the Pastor in assisting the First Presbyterian </p><p>Church to accomplish its mission and ministries. </p><p>Qualifications: Person must have a passion for working with children. Person </p><p>must have a high school diploma. Person should have an understanding of </p><p>progressive, reformed theology that is consistent with the Presbyterian Church </p><p>USA </p><p>Duties: </p><p>1. Be responsible for the planning and running of the Sunday school program </p><p>(K-4th grade). </p><p>2. Work with the Christian Education committee to evaluate and choose suitable </p><p>curricula for the Sunday school program. </p><p>3. Attend Christian Education meetings as often as his/her schedule allows </p><p>and/or at the request of the CE committee. </p><p>4. Maintain accurate rolls of Sunday school youth. </p><p>5. Follow up (by phone call or postcard/letter) with youth who miss two (2) </p><p>consecutive weeks of Sunday school. </p><p>6. Stock and maintain the Christian Education supplies. </p><p>7. Inform Christian Education Committee of budgetary needs by September </p><p>each year. </p><p>8. Notify the congregation/parents of Sunday school events through the bulletin, </p><p>newsletter, mailings, and other appropriate means in a timely manner. </p><p>9. Write an article or announcement for the monthly newsletter articles. </p><p>10. Write a report for the Churchs Annual Report. </p><p>The Vacation Bible School Director will: </p><p>1. Be responsible for the planning and running of Vacation Bible School (VBS) </p><p>the 3rd week of July. </p><p>2. Work with the Christian Education committee to choose suitable curriculum </p><p>for VBS. </p><p>3. Order all materials for VBS. </p></li><li><p>4. Advertise VBS through the bulletin and newsletter, beginning in May. </p><p>5. Arrange adult participation for VBS. </p><p>6. Provide all necessary support for VBS teachers/leaders. </p><p>7. Provide Christian Education with feedback about VBS (What went well? </p><p>What did not?) </p><p>Details: </p><p>1. Supervised in work and duties by the Pastor. Accountable to the Session </p><p>for annual review of performance through the Personnel Committee. </p><p>2. Scheduled to work a minimum of 2 hours, no more than 4 hours per </p><p>week, which includes prep time and the 50 minute class time, except </p><p>during VBS which is 9am-noon 5 days a week, plus prep time. </p><p>3. Comply with Personnel Handbook. </p><p>4. Pay is $30 a Sunday (September- Mid-June, not including the Sunday </p><p>after Thanksgiving, the Sunday after Christmas or Easter Sunday) and </p><p>$800 for the week of VBS. </p></li></ul>
