Job Description: SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY GAME-DAY INTERN Do you have a photographer’s eye and a passion for sports? The Des Moines Menace is searching for a talented photographer who can capture the action and the excitement of Menace Soccer. This part-time summer internship contributes to the marketing and game-day operations of the Menace, Iowa’s premier soccer team. Duties include: At Menace home games (men’s and women’s), taking photos of the action on and off the field. This includes action shots as well as photos of the fan experience. As available, taking photos at the organization’s camps (for ages 3-14). Editing, organizing and archiving the electronic files in a timely fashion. Selecting and emailing photos within 60 minutes of each game’s completion. Qualifications Experience shooting sports action. Creativity and a knack for seeing things from different perspectives. Accessibility to digital camera with sports-action capabilities preferred. High levels of responsibility and organization, with an ability to consistently meet deadlines. A passion for sports and a working knowledge of the game of soccer. Open to receiving and heeding directions, suggestions and constructive criticism. Willing to work nights and weekends. Able to consistently report to the stadium at least an hour before the games begin. The season starts in early May and runs through July, possibly into August. Self-motivated with a positive attitude. Proven team player who is willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
