Lecturer, Mental Health

Vacancy Ref: A1312

Job Title: Lecturer in Mental Health Present Grade: 8

Department/College: Health Research

Directly responsible to: Head of Division

Supervisory responsibility for: N/A

Other contacts

Internal:

Divisional and Faculty of Health and Medicine colleagues and students, together with colleagues in

other faculties, providers of student support services, the Library, ISS and central administration.

External:

Employers, business organisations, professional bodies, local and national government organisations,

research funding bodies and councils, academic and research networks

Actively participate and contribute to the national and international research reputation of Division in the area of Mental Health research

Lead research teams and academic initiatives in the area of Mental Health linked to the translational research programme of the Spectrum Centre

Develop a research programme leading to publications in leading international peer-reviewed academic journals, other appropriate forms of research output and strong impact in line with REF requirements.

Identify opportunities and lead the process of attracting funds for new research contracts and grants.

Contribute to and lead existing postgraduate and undergraduate teaching in the Division through e-learning, lecturing, tutorials and assessment.

Develop, where appropriate, revisions to existing courses or new courses in terms of design, content, structure, forms of delivery, method of assessment.

Supervise postgraduate dissertation projects and PhD students.

To advise on quantitative research methodology, research design and proposal development

as well as data analysis

Provide sabbatical cover where necessary.

To take responsibility for various administrative responsibilities as requested by the Head of

Division or Spectrum Co-Directors.

Undertake other academic duties as required by Head of Division or the Dean of the Faculty
