Job Summary:

Reports directly to the Revenue Cycle Manager and responsible for supervising the day-

to-day functions of the Medical Billing team, which consists of reviewing, coding and

collecting all services provided at the clinic, hospital and birthing center. Also

responsible for implementing policies, procedures and systems for proper coding and

quality assurance as directed Health Care Delivery management, as well as in training

and educating new and existing employees on the use of the practice management

system(s).

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Billing Administration

1.1. Supervises the day-to-day functions of the Medical Billing team which consists

of reviewing, coding and entering encounters for all services provided by FHP

providers at the clinic, hospital and birthing center.

1.2. Implement and adhere to policies, procedures and systems for proper coding and

quality assurance. Policies would be managed by Revenue cycle manager and

then passed on for implementation.

1.3. Ensure accuracy to optimize reimbursement while adhering to regulations.

1.4. Monitors tasks to improve billing practices and increase revenue.

1.5. Attends training and meetings to receive updated coding and or billing

information.

1.6. Prepares and submits reports to management monthly and upon request.

2. General Management

2.1. Determines staff level and coordinates with Revenue Cycle Manager

appropriately to meet work volume demands.

2.2. Reports all staffing deficiencies and disciplinary issues to Revenue Cycle

Manager by providing all documentation to ensure proper review and action.

2.3. Ensures adherence to objectives, operating policies and procedures, and strategic

action plans for achieving goals.

2.4. Provides leadership and motivation by addressing clear expectations,

communicates specific performance feedback to the Revenue Cycle Manager to

ensure timely and thorough performance reviews using internal

measurement/monitoring standards.

2.5. Communicates coaching needs for staff who failed to perform and deliver the

prescribed and committed level of performance output and standards to the

Revenue Cycle Manager.

Job Specifications:

1. Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; RN License is preferred

2. Minimum of 2 years experience and must have proven track record in supervising the

day-to-day functions of Medical Billing Team such as reviewing, coding and

collecting all services provided in the clinic, hospital and birthing center by FHP

providers.

3. Strong supervisory competencies in the areas of leadership and team development,

coaching and mentoring and situational assessment skills and with proven track

record in building and developing high performing teams.

4. A change agent and capable of guiding the team in initiating various change

management initiatives with the view of leading and guiding the organization towards

the future.

5. Strong supervisory acumen in setting team directions and aligning team goals around

business plans.

6. Supervisor judgment and decision-making skills.

7. Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.

8. An effective communicator with strong oral, written and persuasive skills and

capability to deal with people at all levels in the organization.

9. Knowledgeable of federal and state laws and requirements relating to healthcare

management.

10. Computer literate and very highly proficient in using MS office programs.
