Job Title IT System Analyst

Purpose

The role is responsible for developing new internal systems as well as external developments. Development includes analysing and documenting business requirements and agreeing functional specifications. Responsible for life cycle management from conception through implementation and post project reviews.

Enhancing/amending existing systems using standard methodologies and operating within agreed change control framework

Managing third party suppliers in the provision and support of these platforms Co-ordinating system change, testing and releases Developing and updating existing documentation Assisting and advising users in testing Undertaking functional analysis to identify and rectify faults Supporting day to day user requests as required Seeking to maintain system and data integrity at all times Providing functional support for business areas for key company systems Providing functional and analytical support for users on software improvements

Systems Design Co-ordination of new systems development using Microsoft Visual FoxPro V6.0 or above. Authoring of documentation including design and use of in house systems. Managing of system design changes. Implementation and enhancing the company data model, business process reviews and

documentation. Actively participating in cross-functional discussions to achieve the desired System solution.

Project Life Cycle Co-coordinator Coordination of project teams including members from the management team. Documentation to meet project life cycle requirements. Ensuring appropriate business and management ownership of project issues. Costing and budgeting of system enhancements for each department if required. Identify business needs/requirements including assessing feasibility Co-ordinate projects through assignment of teams, authoring Project Initiation Documentation

and achieving project sign on, including agreement of baseline timings. Manage the testing phase of projects, by means of test plans and error / issue reporting. Document user guides and co-ordinate training initiatives where appropriate. Assisting staff members on IT issues. Technical support for users on software improvements. Carry out other reasonable duties set by Management.

• Gas/Utility Industry knowledge a distinct advantage.

• Microsoft Visual FoxPro 6.0 or equivalent desirable

Skills • Demonstrable experience of working as an analyst within an IT environment

• Demonstrable experience in representing the business to ensure IT systems meet business requirements and priorities are effectively tested, implemented and supported and maintained

• Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills with demonstrable influencing skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels

• The ability to participate in, lead and facilitate work groups and establish and manage effective workplace relationships and networks to achieve positive outcomes

• Experience of creating reports using SQL Server Reporting Services

• At least 2 years’ experience as a systems analyst

• Commercially focussed with the ability to understand and operate within budgets to ensure best value from 3rd party suppliers and to create opportunities to add value/improve efficiency through taking an innovative approach

• Collaborates with wider business to deliver business needs

• Strong time management with the ability to prioritise what’s important

• Interfacing user requirements through to system development.

• Proven track record of Project Management.

• Minimum 3 Years Business/System analysis.
