JNPC MONTHLY NEWS LETTER Vol – 1, Pages 4 NOVEMBER ’09 Page 1 of 4 E V E N T S Inauguration of Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE) by Sri Ashok Kumar I.A.S., Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Govt. of India on 21 st October 2009 The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE) were inaugurated by Sri Ashok Kumar I.A.S., Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India, on 21 st October 2009, in Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, Parawada, Vizag. The other delegates accompanied were Sri B.P. Acharya, IAS, Chairman & Managing Director of APIIC, Mr. R.C. Jha, Director, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Sadhana Monga, General Manager , IDPL, Mr. Appaji, Executive Director of Pharmaxcll, Mr. I. Eswara Rao, Executive Director APIIC and others along with Ramky officials. The Hon’ble Secretary after inaugurations proceeded to visit M/s Smilax Labs where he was received by Sri. Rajendra Kharkar, General Manager and shown him the facilities. After this the Secretary visited M/s Aptuite Laurus where he was given a brief presentation about the company by the Sr. Vice President. Later he visited M/s PharmaZell and M/s Eisai Pharmatechnology (I) Pvt. Ltd. in SEZ. Later, the Hon’ble Secretary proceeded to the Commercial Hub where an interactive session was held by Mr. Ashok Kumar and Mr. B.P. Acharya with the member industries. Prior to the interactive session, a detailed presentation on JNPC was given by Dr. P.P. Lal Krihsna, Head-Operations of Ramky Pharma City. During the session, few issues raised by the member units were answered by Mr. Acharya and Ramky officials. Later Mr. Acharya addressed the meeting followed by Mr. Ashok Kumar. The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and Multiple Effect

Evaporator (MEE) were inaugurated by Sri Ashok Kumar

I.A.S., Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals,

Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India,

on 21st October 2009, in Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City,

Parawada, Vizag. The other delegates accompanied

were Sri B.P. Acharya, IAS, Chairman & Managing

Director of APIIC, Mr. R.C. Jha, Director, Department of

Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Sadhana Monga, General

Manager , IDPL, Mr. Appaji, Executive Director of

Pharmaxcll, Mr. I. Eswara Rao, Executive Director APIIC

and others along with Ramky officials. The Hon’ble Secretary

appreciated world class facilities at JNPC to cater the requirements of Pharma Industry. He opinioned

that there is a tremendous prospects for the Pharma industry and agreed to

help in all respects to develop further. He informed to the industry

that he will ask NIPER to conduct short term studies on various

possibilities of implementation of newer techniques. At the end, he

assured his full co-operation to the growth of the Pharma City and

reiterated that in no doubt the JNPC is a desirable destination for

Pharma industrialists in India and abroad. Later mementos were

presented to the dignitaries by the Ramky officials. At the end of

the session Sri P. Eswar Reddy, Chief Executive Officer of Ramky

gave vote of thanks.

Earlier Mr. Ashok Kumar

visited the facilities in Services Area in JNPC which include

Emergency Medical Centre, Cafeteria, Police Outpost, Fire Station

and State Bank of Hyderabad branch. A guard of honour was

given to the Hon’ble Secretary by the Fire Crew at Fire Station. At

the end, a tree plantation programme was organized at

Commercial Hub premises where Mr. Ashok Kumar and his team

planted saplings in the commercial hub of Pharma city.

The State Bank of Hyderabad had started their branch at

JNPC in Services Area. The branch was inaugurated by Dr.

Inauguration of Fire Station & Fire Tender operations at Services Area on 9th October 2009

Following the decision taken at 8

th governing body meeting, the

operations of Fire Station & Fire Tender were outsourced to M/s

Asian Fire Crews (A subsidiary

of Asian Institute of Industrial

Fire & Safety). This Common

facility was inaugurated by Sri.

at JNPC Services Area.

Mock Fire Drill performed by M/s Asian Fire Crews at Fire Station premises in Services Area on 28th October 2009

M/s Asian Fire Crews, the O&M contractor of

Fire Station and Fire Tender, have performed

a mock fire drill at Fire Station Premises on

28th October 2009. This adventurous drill was

witnessed by the delegates of member

industries. Mr. Vijay Kumar Nayak, Asst.

Commandant (CISF) - Simhadri NTPC, was

present as Chief Guest and he was welcomed

by Sri. Dr. P.P. Lal Krishna, Head Operations.

The objective of this mock fire drill is to

manifest the alertness of the crew and the

readiness of equipment to attend any type of

eventuality. Mr. Muniratnam Naidu, Director of

M/s Asian Fire Crews, explained about the

preventive measures to avoid any fire mishaps.

During this drill, the fire crew performed different fire fighting exercises like saving persons trapped in

multi-storied building, rescuing the people during the gas leakage etc.
