Jammu Municipal Corporation has started area wise thermal fogging drive in Jammu city. The thermal fogging drive was started by Commissioner JMC Dr. Manmohan Singh accompanied by Joint Commissioner (A), JMC Sh. R. S. Jamwal, today on 01/09/2016 from Radio station Chowk Panjtirthi Jammu. The drive is being conducted under the direct supervision of Health Officer JMC Dr. Mohd. Saleem Khan in collaboration with Malaria wing of Health Department. Under the thermal fogging drive today ward no. 1, 2, 3 i.e. Panjtirthi, Jullaka Mohalla, Jain Bazar, Mast Garh, Link road etc. will be covered. Whole of the city will be covered on the respective dates as per the schedule already circulated. The drive will culminate on 30/09/2016. The drive is launched to bring down the vector density of adult mosquitoes and to reduce impending danger of spread of mosquito born diseases. The timing of thermal fogging shall be 06:00 Pm onwards daily. The general public especially the old age and those allergic to smoke / asthmatics are requested to remain indoor during thermal fogging. Public in general is also requested to follow the preventive measures like: Staying in well-screened houses. Wearing protective clothings. Using mosquito repellents and nets. Reducing mosquito habitats and breeding places.

Jammu Municipal Corporation has started area wise thermal fogging drive in

Jammu city. The thermal fogging drive was started by Commissioner JMC Dr.

Manmohan Singh accompanied by Joint Commissioner (A), JMC Sh. R. S. Jamwal,

today on 01/09/2016 from Radio station Chowk Panjtirthi Jammu. The drive is being

conducted under the direct supervision of Health Officer JMC Dr. Mohd. Saleem Khan

in collaboration with Malaria wing of Health Department. Under the thermal fogging

drive today ward no. 1, 2, 3 i.e. Panjtirthi, Jullaka Mohalla, Jain Bazar, Mast Garh,

Link road etc. will be covered. Whole of the city will be covered on the respective dates

as per the schedule already circulated. The drive will culminate on 30/09/2016. The

drive is launched to bring down the vector density of adult mosquitoes and to reduce

impending danger of spread of mosquito born diseases. The timing of thermal fogging

shall be 06:00 Pm onwards daily.

The general public especially the old age and those allergic to smoke / asthmatics

are requested to remain indoor during thermal fogging. Public in general is also

requested to follow the preventive measures like:

Commissioner/Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Deptt reviewed JMC working.

Today on 02.09.2016 the Commissioner/Secretary to Govt., Housing & Urban

Development Department Sh. Hirdesh Kumar (IAS) took review of Jammu Municipal

Corporation in the Conference Hall of Jammu Municipal Corporation wherein

Commissioner, JMC, Dr. Manmohan Singh (KAS) gave power point presentation of

functioning of each section. The Commissioner/Secretary stressed for preparation of

DPRs which have been proposed under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban

Transformation (AMRUT). He further asked the Engineering Wing of JMC to complete

the developmental works on war footing basis. He also directed Health & Sanitation

Wing to pay special attention towards maintaining proper sanitation in the City and

stressed that Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) targets and IEC components should be

the main focus of JMC.

He further suggested for exploring some place which could be developed and

utilized for keeping stray animals. He further asked Jammu Municipal Corporation to

rehabilitate the slum dwellers at Sunjwan where dwelling units have been constructed

by Jammu Municipal Corporation under Basic Scheme for Urban Poor (BSUP).

The meeting was also attended by R.S. Jamwal (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A),

Neeraj Gupta (KAS), Chief Accounts Officers, Ranjit Singh (KAS), Secretary, Ms.

Subah Mehta (KAS), Asstt. Commissioner (Rev.), Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner

JMC conducted a meeting of all the Supervisors regarding the schedule issued by Chief Electoral Officer, J&K on Special Summary

Revision commencing from 15.09.2016 to 14.10.2016.

On the directions of District Election Officer (Dy Commissioner), Jammu today

on 09.09.2016, Electoral Reg. Officers, 72-Jammu

East (Joint Commissioner (A)), Sh. R.S. Jamwal (KAS) & 73-Jammu West (Secretary),

Sh. Ranjit Singh (KAS), alongwith AERO’s & Election Naib Tehsildar, JMC conducted

a meeting of all the Supervisors regarding the schedule issued by Chief Electoral

Officer, J&K on Special Summary Revision commencing from 15.09.2016 to

14.10.2016.

“Draft Publication of Electoral Rolls is commencing from 15th of September,

2016 (Thursday), Period of filling of claims and objections on 15th, September, 2016

to 14th of October (Friday), 2016, Reading of relevant part/section of photo Electoral

Rolls in Gram Sabha/Local Bodies and RWA meeting etc and verification of names on

16th of September (Friday), 2016 to 30th of October (Friday), 2016, Special

Campaign dates with Booth Level Agents of Political parties for receiving claims and

objections on 18th of September (Sunday), 2016 and 9th of October (Sunday),

2016, Disposal of claims and objections on 16th of November (Wednesday), 2016,

Updating the database, merging of photographs, updating the control tables and

preparation and printing of supplementary list on 15th of December, 2016 & final

publication of Electoral Rolls on 5th of January (Thursday), 2017”

During the meeting ERO’s stressed upon Special Summary Revision Camps

scheduled to held on 18.09.2016 (Sunday) 09.10.2016 (Sunday) at every polling

station within both the Constituencies i.e 72-Jammu East & 73-Jammu West. All the

Supervisors were instructed to inform their respective BLOs to remain present at the

polling stations alongwith sufficient no. of forms no. 6, 7, 8 & 8A so that new voters

can be enrolled and suitable modifications i.e Addition, Deletion, Correction &

Transposition can be made.

The Electoral Reg. Officers gave directions to the AEROs and Supervisors to give

wide publicity to the Special Revision programme at gross root level, so that no eligible

voter should be left out.

JMC conducted a surprise drive in different areas of Jammu City to

ensure the sale of wholesome and good quality meat and meat byproducts to the consumers on eve of Eid-ul-Azha.

Under the directions of Commissioner JMC, Dr. Manmohan Singh, KAS and

Joint Commissioner (Adm.) R.S Jamwal, KAS, the Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr.

Jaswant Singh along with other team members conducted a surprise drive in different

areas of Jammu City to ensure the sale of wholesome and good quality meat and meat

byproducts to the consumers on eve of Eid-ul-Azha. The surprise drive started from

B.C road, Rehari, Subash Nagar, Janipur, Newplot, CPO Chowk & Talab Khatikan,

etc.

During the drive, various meat shops were checked and about 10kg of

substandard meat was seized and later on disposed of properly along with a fine to

the tune of Rs. 1800/- was also levied from meat sellers selling unstamped meat.

Municipal Veterinary Officer has appealed to all the shopkeepers dealing with

meat/chicken products to maintain hygienic environment in and around their shops

and make availability of good quality meat to the consumers during the festive season.

He said that such surprised drives will continue in near future as well to ensure that

the consumers can get healthy, wholesome and diseased free meat at any cost.

Jammu Municipal Corporation flaged off Public Awareness Campaign by way of publication of appeal pamphlet and a vehicle equipped with loud speakers for

announcements.

In compliance to the instructions issued by Divisional Commissioner, Jammu,

today on 15.09.2016 on the directions of Dr. Manmohan Singh (KAS), Municipal

Commissioner the Joint Commissioner (Adm), Sh. R.S. Jamwal (KAS) & Secretary, Sh.

Ranjit Singh (KAS) alongwith Health Officer, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Chief

Enforcement Officer and other staff members of Jammu Municipal Corporation flaged

off Public Awareness Campaign by way of publication of appeal pamphlet and a

vehicle equipped with loud speakers for announcements.

The objective of the campaign is to aware general public by announcements and

distribution of pamphlets within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation about

sanitation, encroachments, illegal constructions, lane/drains/nallahs etc. The Joint Commissioner (A) stressed upon the issue which has come up from

the society before Jammu Municipal Corporation regarding insanitation,

encroachments, illegal constructions etc, he also stressed that it’s a prime

responsibility of every citizen to make their surroundings neat and clean.

The Shopkeepers are aware that footpaths/pavements are meant for

pedestrians and roads for vehicular traffic. The JMC appealed to all the shopkeepers

not to place their articles on the footpaths, as it may cause inconvenience to

pedestrians especially school going children and old age people of the society. The issue of illegal constructions is also a big problem which is being faced by

JMC on day to day basis, the owner raising constructions are advised that before

starting any construction within the limits they must take prior permission from the

Corporation, as the procedure for getting building permission has been made easiest. The Joint Commissioner (Adm), Jammu Municipal Corporation also informed

that JMC is going to conduct massive anti encroachment drive in all the wards of

JMC. In this drive every nook and corner of the areas falling under the limits will be

visited/inspected by Health, Enforcement, Revenue & Transport wing of JMC.

The main moto of this campaign is to convey appeal of Jammu Municipal

Corporation before undertaking anti encroachment drive to inform all the

shopkeepers as well as general public to remove their articles/material installed on

footpaths/roads by encroaching upon the footpaths and pavements, stop undertaking

illegal constructions without taking prior permission.

The general public is appealed not to keep their plots vacant, as they became

health hazards due to accumulation of heap of garbage by throwing waste material by

surrounding neighbrourers in the plots and also raise the boundary wall to

secure/protect the plot.

The JMC also appealed to citizens do not throw polythene carry bags in the

nallahs/drains as they cause blockage to drains/lanes/nallahs resulting insanitary

conditions in the locality.

Review meeting for prevention and control of Dengue and Other Vector Borne Diseases in J&K.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Manmohan Singh, KAS

Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation on 16th September 2016, in his Office

Chamber to review the measures taken for prevention and control of Dengue and

Chicken Gunya etc. Dr. Gurjeet Singh, State Malariologist and Health Officer, JMC

were also present in the meeting.

Threadbare discussions were held in the meeting regarding prevention and

control of (Vector Borne Diseases) VBD’s including bringing down vector density of

mosquitoes, source reduction, sanitation and other issues pertaining to the matter.

Progress of thermal fogging operation which is going on within the limits of

Jammu Municipal Corporation was also reviewed. The Commissioner showed his

satisfaction and appreciated the team involved in this operation. He also appealed the

public in general to take preventive measures from mosquito bites.

Thematic Cleanliness drive w.e.f 1st - 30th September

2016 Educational Institutional and Tourist

Places.

In view of Govt. Instructions and directions issued by Dr. Manmohan Singh

Commissioner JMC today on 21/09/2016Thematic cleanliness drive was launched by

Sh. R. S. Jamwal Joint Commissioner (A) (KAS), Sh. Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts

Officer (KAS) & Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, JMC, Sh. T.R. Choudhary, Principal

K.V No. 1, in the presence of other sanitation staff of Health Wing JMC in and

around the Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. During this drive

sweeping of parking area, lawns, grounds, and rooms was done.

The toilets were also thoroughly cleaned. Some points identified by the Principal were

also cleared. About one truck of Garbage and debris was removed with the help of

vehicles deployed on the spot.The students and other staff of K.V. No. 1 were also

participated in the drive. The students pledged to cooperate the Jammu Municipal

Corporation for grand success of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and they will also educate

the people to use container/dustbins for disposal of garbage. One of the student

namely Garima Sharma of class 11th was selected as messenger of Swachh Bharat

Mission and she will spread the message of Jammu Municipal Corporation among the

students of the School to keep the premises of the School as well as the their

residential places clean and green. She will also formulate

Sanitation Club of the School and Jammu Municipal Corporation will prove the

logistic support to the Sanitation Club of K.V. No.1. The Joint Commissioner (A)

appealed the public in general to cooperate with Jammu Municipal

Corporation in keeping Jammu Clean & Green and also not to use polythene carry

bags. They also requested general public through electronic & print media to use

dustbins / containers installed in their localities for throwing garbage and help JMC

to keep the area clean and green.

Continuing the Thematic Cleanliness drives being conducted in Educational

Institutions and Tourist places w.e.f 01st to 30th September 2016 in view of Govt.

Instructions and directions issued by Dr. Manmohan Singh, KAS, Commissioner JMC

today on Today on 22/09/2016 Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted a drive in

Raghunath Temple, Raghunath Bazar and City Chowk area.

The drive was launched by Sh. R. S. Jamwal Joint Commissioner (A) (KAS), Sh.

Neeraj Gupta, Chief Accounts Officer (KAS), Sh. Ranjit Singh Secretary (KAS), JMC &

Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, JMC besides other supervisory sanitation staff of

JMC. The Sr. Vice President Sh. Mohit Gupta, Junior Vice President Sh. Madan

Mohan Sharma, General Secretary Sh. Sanjay Sethi, & other representatives of

Raghunath Bazar Association were also present during the drive.

Sufficient number of men and machinery was deployed by Health &

sanitation wing / Transport wing for this drive. During this drive sweeping of roads,

desilting of drains, sprinkling of lime was done. About two truck of Garbage and

debris was removed with the help of vehicles deployed on the spot.

Besides this drive a march from Raghunath Temple to City Chowk area

was also organized for the awareness of public to keep their surroundings clean and

green, avoid to use polythene, use container and dustbins for disposal of garbage and

also approach to the concerned agencies for construction of Individual house hold

latrines if they do not have in their premises

The representatives of Raghunath Bazar Association members welcomed

the officers / staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation and appreciated the JMC

administration for indentifying the Raghunath Bazar as one of the venue for this drive

as large number of pilgrims visit this place regularly. The association also assured

their whole hearted cooperation to Jammu Municipal Corporation to conduct this

kind of activities to make Jammu clean & green to make Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a

successful mission. They also assured to JMC that all the shopkeepers will keep

dustbins in their business premises and dispose the garbage at a proper place so that

the area of Raghunath Bazar looks clean and green. The association also pledged not

to use polythene which is not environment friendly as well as create health hazard

conditions for human being.

The Joint Commissioner (A) thanks the Bazar association for this active

cooperation and assured all possible help to make this area clean and green.

JMC SEALS FOUR NO’s OF SHOPS AT GANDHI NAGAR JAMMU

 

 

On the instructions of Dr. Manmohan Singh (KAS) Commissioner, Jammu

Municipal Corporation Jammu and under the supervision of Sh. R.S. Jamwal (KAS)

Joint Commissioner (Administration), the Enforcement staff sealed four no’s of shops

constructed by Sh. Sunil Handa S/o Sh. PC Handa at 44 C/C Gandhi Nagar, Jammu

under section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988 as the said person

has raised the four no’s of shops in the rear set back area unauthorizedly and in

violation of the land use of the area from residential to commercial one. The said

illegal construction seriously effects the planned development of Jammu City and

contravenes the zoning regulation.

The sealing operation has been conducted with the help of Police Force from

Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.

The Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the General Public to refrain from

making encroachments and unauthorized constructions / Conversion in violation of

land use otherwise strict action as admissible under rule leading to demolition /

sealing will be taken.

supervisory & sanitation staff of JMC. Mrs. Shashi Prabha Thappa Principal Govt.

Girls Higher Sec. School Bakshi Nagar Jammu was also present among the other

teaching staff and students of the school.

Sufficient number of men and machinery was deployed by Health &

sanitation wing / Transport wing for this drive. During this drive sweeping of ground,

Corridors, and rooms was done. The toilets were also thoroughly cleaned. Some points

identified by the Principal were also cleared. About two light vehicles of Garbage and

debris was removed with the help of vehicles deployed on the spot.

the officers and staff of JMC to provide sanitation in their school.

The Joint Commissioner (A) advised the students and teaching staff to

spread the message of cleanliness as well as various programmes being launched

Drive in open defecation vulnerable spots within the limits of JMC

In pursuance of Govt. instructions and directions issued by Dr. Manmohan

Singh, (KAS), Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation. Today on 25/09/2016

Jammu Municipal Corporation launched drive in open defecation vulnerable spots

within the limits of Municipal Corporation.

The drive was launched by the sanitation teams under the supervision of Sh.

Neeraj Gupta (KAS) Chief Account Officer, Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer JMC. The

Sanitation Officers, Asstt. Sanitation Officer, Sanitary Inspectors besides other

supervisory & sanitation staff of JMC were also part of the teams.

The drive was launched in ward no. 47, 48, 52, 60, 62, and 66. The areas

covered Bahu fort, Kalika Colony, Press Morh, Marathi Mohalla, Harki Pori area,

Upper Roop Nagar, Lower Roop Nagar, Paloura, Bantalab etc.

The Motive of the drive was to spread awareness among the people involved in

open defecation regarding the harmful effects of open defecation as this not only

invites various diseases beside polluting the water bodies.

The owners of Plots where the Juggies erected are advice to provide toilet

facilities to these tenants or approach to Jammu Municipal Corporation for

construction of IHHL. (Individual House Hold Latrine).

The Public in general advice to seek benefit of various schemes launched

under Swacch Bharat Mission by the Govt. of India like construction of (IHHL)

Individual House Hold Latrine, Public Toilets, Community toilets and Housing for All

(HFA) and approach Jammu Municipal Corporation.

Ranjeet Singh Secretary (KAS), JMC & Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, JMC besides

other supervisory sanitation staff of JMC. Mrs. Shashi Prabha Head Mistress Govt.

Primary School Peer-Kho was also present among the other teaching staff and

students of the school.

Sufficient number of men and machinery was deployed by Health & sanitation

wing / Transport wing for this drive. During this drive the whole peer kho area were

thoroughly cleaned. Desilting of drains and deep drains was done. About three

vehicles of Garbage and debris was removed with the help of vehicles deployed on the

spot.

success of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and they will also educate the people to use

container/dustbins for disposal of garbage.

Swachh Bharat Week

Ward Level Meetings/Drive against Polythene Carry bags

On the eve of 2nd anniversary of the launch of Swachh Bharat Mission and to

commemorate the Swachh Bharat Week which is being celebrated from 25th

September to 2nd October 2016 Jammu Municipal Corporation organized Drive

against use of Polythene Carry bags. Dr. Manmohan Singh, KAS, Commissioner

Jammu Municipal Corporation flagged off the drive against polythene carry bags from

the JMC premise at Town Hall, Jammu. Sh. R.S. Jamwal (KAS), Joint Commissioner

(Adm), Sh. Neeraj Gupta (KAS), Chief Accounts Officer, Sh. Ranjit Singh (KAS),

Secretary, Sh. Kushal Chand, Joint Commissioner (Works), Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health

Officer and officers of Sanitation and Enforcement Wings of JMC were also present

during the flag of function.

The teams of Health & Sanitation Wing and Enforcement Wing of Jammu

Municipal Corporation were deputed to launch drive against use of polythene carry

bags. Almost whole of the area within the limits of Jammu Municipal Corporation was

covered during this drive. More than one quintal of Polythene carry bags and fine

amounting to Rs. 83900/- was recovered by the teams of Health & Sanitation wing

and Enforcement wing of JMC.

Continuing the ward level meetings which were started on 26/09/2016 in the

areas of Ward No. 3, Peerkho, Ward No. 22, Shastri Nagar Jammu, Ward Level

Meetings were organised in Ward No. 30 & Ward No. 31 Rama Lane, Nitco Lane, Ward

no. 62 Roop Nagar Jammu in which Mohalla Welfare Committees of these area

participated. These Committees were requested to cooperate with Jammu Municipal

Corporation to make the Swachh Bharat Mission successful and help JMC in making

Jammu Clean & Green.

Besides this, the ward level committees were also requested to spread the

message of Jammu Municipal Corporation in the general public to: -

1. Approach Jammu Municipal Corporation for Construction of Individual Household

Toilets IHHL.

2. Use dustbins at their individual houses and shops for collection of garbage and

put the garbage of the dustbins at the collection points/bins of JMC.

3. Place dustbins in their shops and put all the garbage in the dustbins and dispose

it at nearby garbage collection points.

4. Remove concrete slabs over the drains and fix iron gratings so that the blockages

from the drains are cleared on regular basis.

5. Avoid open defecation.

6. Use Public & Community Toilets.

7. Avoid use of polythene carry bags.

Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals the citizens of Jammu to

join hands with Jammu Municipal Corporation to make the City of Temples, Clean

and Green and participate in large extent to make Swachh Bharat Week a grand

success. The Jammu Municipal Corporation is always ready to redress the problems

of people of Jammu City to at their door step.

Swachh Bharat Week

Continuing the drives and various programmes being organized by Jammu

Municipal Corporation on the eve of 2nd anniversary of the launch of Swachh Bharat

Mission and to commemorate the Swachh Bharat Week which is being celebrated

from 25th September to 2nd October 2016.

Today on 28/09/2016 Jammu Municipal Corporation conducted a cleanliness

drive in Bahu Fort temple area. The drive was launched by Sh. R. S. Jamwal (KAS)

Joint Commissioner (A), Sh. Neeraj Gupta, (KAS) Chief Accounts Officer, & Dr. Anita

Salgotra, Health Officer, JMC besides other supervisory sanitation staff of JMC.

School Children have also participated in this drive. The Sh. K. K. Chalotra Chairman,

Sh. Pawan Kumar President, Sh. Satish Kumar Secretary Market Association were

also present during the drive. The students and teaching staff from Jagdambay

Academy Bahu Fort were also participated in the drive.

Sufficient number of men and machinery was deployed by Health & sanitation

wing / Transport wing of JMC for this drive. During this drive sweeping of parking

area, Bazar, and Bahu Fort temple premises was thoroughly clean and lime also

sprinkled at the dirty pockets. Shopkeepers have been advised to use dustbins for

disposal of garbage of their shops and dispose the garbage at nearby collection point /

container. Tourists visiting the temples has also been advised to use the dustbin for

disposal of garbage. About two trucks of Garbage and debris was removed with the

help of vehicles deployed on the spot.

The association also assured their whole hearted cooperation to Jammu

Municipal Corporation to conduct this kind of activities to make Jammu clean &

green to make Swachh Bharat Abhiyan a successful mission. They also assured to

JMC that all the shopkeepers will keep dustbins in their business premises and

dispose the garbage at a proper place so that the area of Bahu Fort temple can be

maintained clean and green. The association also pledged not to use polythene which

is not environment friendly as well as create health hazard conditions for human

being.

The Joint Commissioner (A) JMC appealed the public in general to cooperate

with Jammu Municipal Corporation in keeping Jammu Clean & Green and also not to

use polythene carry bags. He requested general public through electronic & print

media to use dustbins / containers installed in their localities for throwing garbage.

He also advise the students to spread the message of cleanliness among the students

of the school and in their localities to make Swachh Bharat Mission a successful

mission.

JMC organized one day city level workshop at Boys Govt. HSS

Continuing the drives and various programmes being organized by Jammu

Municipal Corporation on the eve of 2nd anniversary of the launch of Swachh Bharat

Mission and to commemorate the Swachh Bharat Week which is being celebrated

from 25th September to 2nd October 2016, Jammu Municipal Corporation organized

one day city level sanitation workshop at Govt. Boys Higher Sec. School Gandhi Nagar

Jammu.

The workshop was inaugurated with the welcome address of Sh. R. S. Jamwal

(KAS) Joint Commissioner (A) JMC. Sh. Neeraj Gupta, (KAS) Chief Accounts Officer,

Sh. Ranjit Singh (KAS), Secretary JMC, Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer, JMCand

Miss Sulekha Batra, Vice Principal Govt. Boys Higher School Gandhi Nagar and other

staff of health and sanitation wing of JMC also attended the workshop.

At the outset Swachhta Oath was taken by all the participants of the workshop

that they will contribute their best for making the city of temples Clean and Green.

Sh. R. S. Jamwal (KAS), Joint Commissioner (A), JMC welcomed the guests,

participants and highlighted various programmes organized by Jammu Municipal

Corporation during Swachh Bharat Week. He advised the students to spread the

message in the general masses so that the Jammu Municipal Corporation gets the

cooperation from people in large to make the Jammu Clean & Green. Two nos. of

dustbins were installed in the school premises by Jammu Municipal Corporation as

per the request of the school authorities.

Students from Boys Higher Sec. School Gandhi Nagar and Girls Higher Sec

School Shastri Nagar also participated in the workshop. Dr. Rakesh Bahl, Associate

Professor Govt. Medical College attended the workshop as a key resource person and

delivered a key note address on personal hygienic, prevention of diseases by

maintaining the sanitation in and around our surroundings.

Dr. Anita Salgotra, Health Officer JMC also address the participants and seek

cooperation particularly from students as they are the future of our country and they

can do their best to contribute towards the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Students namely Som Guranj, Harshpal Singh, Murari Morya, Mohan Singh

and Kishore Choudhary from Boys Higher Sec. School Gandhi Nagar Deepsikha,

Prabneet from Girls Higher Sec. School Shastri Nagar also shared their views and

highlighted various aspects of Swachh Bharat Mission launched by the Govt. of India

and the Swachh Bharat week being celebrated by Jammu Municipal Corporation.

Mementos and participation certificates were also given to the students who

participated in the debate during workshop Sh. Neeraj Gupta (KAS), Chief Accounts

Officer, JMC (Nodal Officer, (SBM) presented vote of thanks and sought the

cooperation of students in making our city Clean and Green for the success

implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission. He also advised the students and teaching

staff to maintain the sanitation in their houses, school premises and their

surroundings.

JMC launched Cleanliness Drive

Continuing the drives and various programmes being organized by

Jammu Municipal Corporation on the eve of 2nd anniversary of the launch of Swachh

Bharat Mission and to commemorate the Swachh Bharat Week which is being

celebrated from 25th September to 2nd October 2016. Jammu Municipal Corporation

launched Cleanliness Drive at Children Park Mohinder Nagar near Chander Bhaga

Community Hall Canal Road Jammu.

The drive was launched by Sh. R. S. Jamwal (KAS) Joint Commissioner (A)

JMC. Sh. Neeraj Gupta, (KAS) Chief Accounts Officer (Nodal Officer SBM), Dr. Anita

Salgotra, Health Officer, JMC and other staff of health and sanitation wing of JMC.

The residents of the area were also present during the drive. The motive of the drive

was to aware the general public that we should maintain our surroundings clean and

green. The children park was identified to bring awareness among the children who

are our future generation.

The Joint Commissioner (A) advised the people to spread the message of

cleanliness among the masses. He also appealed to cooperate with Jammu

Municipal Corporation in keeping Jammu Clean & Green and avoid using polythene

carry bags, use dustbins/containers installed in their localities for throwing garbage.

Sh. Neeraj Gupta (KAS), Chief Accounts Officer, JMC (Nodal Officer, SBM)

appealed the people for their active cooperation in making our city clean and green for

the success of implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission. He also appealed the public

to approach Jammu Municipal Corporation for construction of Individual House Hold

Latrines if they do not have in their premises.
