We have a glitch somewhere in our system, either with our software, or our server that is causing

us some problems.

Each month, about 20 or more people get "zapped" and have issues logging in. Slow server

response times, or they get logged back out as soon as they log in. It seems to be random, it

happened to some of my friends recently (which is why I know more about the presence of this

issue than I did before).

Some like to tell tall tales elsewhere and have a pretty-girl pity-party and tell everyone that they

were banned from WG when this happens to them. Not the case. If you get banned here, you get

a blank white screen with a text box that very clearly tells you that you are banned, and for how

long. There is no mistaking this action.

So if you ever have this issue, email myself or Michael.

It's not an exact science, but we seem to have good luck restoring those stalled accounts when we

reboot our server as well as reload our database/membership database. Unfortunately this is time

consuming for Mike, and he works a lot of hours... and it takes the forum offline for a couple

hours. So we can't do this as often as we'd like.

Sorry for any inconvenience that this may have caused you, or anyone you know. We will always

try to fix it, but for right now it's only a temporary fix and we can't seem to figure out how to

Thanks Jim. Is there any way we could have a FB like posting here direct from our

computers or phone or is that not possible? Its much easier at least for me it is. Thanks.

Well, when you hang out in a cesspool, you're likely to come out smelling pretty rank. It's

easy for those that wander to those dark places to be convinced that WGs is somehow evil,

is plotting against you, plans to steal your babies, and will likely be the cause of some

form of terminal illness...

I'm just tired of hearing it come back at us, and wanted to set the record straight.

In our old software there was a special setting that could be applied to a user, I think it was

called "grumpy user" or something like that... and it would make pages load slowly to

frustrate them. It was kind of like slapping them on the wrist instead of banning them, but

I don't believe we ever used it anyway. It wasn't as severe as the problems we're hearing

about now... you COULD connect, just about 5X slower is all.

This software we run now does not have that feature. If it is offered, we don't have it

installed. Even if we did... you'd be able to load pages, just slower. These poor folks can't

load a page at ALL, or they get booted once they log in. It SUCKS.

I had that happen to me for about 12 hours (only actually checked twice as I was busy that

day), but the next morning all was well. I'd log in and as soon as I clicked any links I was

logged back out.

I just assumed it was a glitch (and more assumed it could be on my end), no conspiracy

theories for me.

As the site continues to grow you will have issues like this. WG has good uptime and ok

speed as far as I have seen. I am surprised to hear that you all are managing your own box,

soon it will be to much for one person to manage when they have time between everything

else they are doing.

Props for running it like that so far.

Yes, I do remember when you had this issue, you were one of the 1st I believe. We did the

things I outlined above, and you were once again able to read/reply and all that good stuff.

Just goes to show... somoene's telling the truth, and it's on this side of the fence

I had it happen to me twice. Once for 2 weeks, then 2 days later for 4 weeks. It did save

me a lot of money...It also curtailed my posting a little.

I really thought it was a little forced vacation. Glad to know it wasn't.

When ever something like you just described happens then I chalk it up to coincidence!

Any way thank you for the heads-up. There are folks who like to believe that someone or

something is out to get get them, and I believe that once someone gets to know me then I

may have reason to be paranoid, just ask my better-half!

I've had the slow server response time a couple of times. Logging in, I say about 3 or 4

times since I registered. For the post 2 or 3 months, everything is a ok.

I am putting this pretty-girl pity-party in my abbreviation thread.

Clearly this is all part of the vast conspiracy. We all know it's part of your sinister plot to

consolidate all watch-buying activity to SNBC so that you, Michael, and Eyal can fund

your operations for world domination.

What next? I'm waiting for someone to come up with a way that you caused the BP oil

spill too.
