What is Jillaroo?As Australia is the driest continent in the world, we knew a specialproduct was needed for women who are out in the sun most of theirday.

So, our family at Y Not Naturals brought together the most moisturizingingredients that are vegan and organic that Australia had to offer.

Our focus was to formulate a product in celebration of the Jillaroo – alsoknown at the Cowgirls of the Outback.

We worked to make this product the best product a women could haveto nurture her skin while at the same time be out in the sun all day.

We used the Australian Avocado as the base - and they are specialavocados indeed!

They are grown under bio-dynamic methods without the use ofartificial fertilizers or chemicals. The extra virgin oil is cold pressed,filtered and bottled without the use of heat, solvents or additives.

The base: Australian Avocado The Australian avocado has an abundance of antioxidants thatcontain a high percentage of mono-unsaturated fatty acids,vitamins A, B, and D along with being rich in lecithin. All theseelements are essential to optimizing skin health.

In addition, we have added Vital ET® which is particularly effectivefor sensitive skin in anti-acne, anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, scalp andhair treatment applications.

As we are particularly concerned about sun damage, we have madeour Jillaroo cream with a 50 sunblock - and it is all organic.

There were many challenges to formulate a product such as this, asthe cream needs to penetrate the upper layers of the skin. It ispossible because of the avocado's invaluable penetrating andemollient properties. There is simply nothing better for dry andwrinkled skin, burns and sunburns.

The Jillaroo Product Range

The beneficial use of vitamins in general and specifically vitamin E,continues to be an active area in dermatology and cosmetic science. A majorskincare challenge for using vitamin E (α-tocopherol) has been to keep itstable in formulations.

The most common approach has been to use the ester α-tocopherol acetate. Although it is more stable, it has a different efficacy profile than vitamin E.Vital ET® focuses on a phosphorylated form, tocopheryl phosphate, whichscientific evidence shows is a naturally occurring form of vitamin E. Toimprove its bioavailability, tocopheryl phosphate has been associated with acomplexing agent, disodium lauryliminodipropionate.

Avocado oil has excellent keeping qualities because of an inbuilt antioxidantsystem. Avocado contains a high percentage of monounsaturated fatty acids,vitamins A, B, and D and is rich in lecithin.

For use in skin applications, it is thought that despite it's viscosity it has theability to penetrate the upper layers of the skin. Avocado oil is valuable for itseffects on dry and wrinkled skin, burns and sunburns.

Research by Valette and Sorbin reported that avocado oil had "the highestrate of skin penetration and the ability to transport active substancesthrough the outer epidermis of the skin and into the dermis for increasedeffectiveness.
