The Rear Perspective
Wow, where didthe year go! Hard to be-
lieve this is my last articleas Rear Commodore. Ithas been achallengingbut also avery re-wardingyear too. Iagain want
to thank the
Board for supporting thevarious projects, Eric forhis help and all the peoplewho answered the call tovolunteer. Without yourvery important participa-tion, we would not havebeen as successful withthe many projects that
were undertaken. I cer-tainly hope you will sup-
port incoming Rear Com-modore Doug Shealy in
the same fashion.Eric has assured
me the club is winterizedand put to bed for the
winter season. ThanksEric. The Board has ap-proved the purchase of
two kitchen appliances. Anew convection oven willreplace the current one
that is continually break-ing down. Say good bye
to the old deep fryer. Two new gas fired fryersare on their way! The dishwasher has been changed
out with a more up-to-date version with a better
water jet wash system.
The Board also approvedthe purchase of a portable
Pump-Out system. Theelectric
pump-outwill be on atrailer witha holdingtank. Thedetails ofhow and
who will do the pumpouts will be worked outbefore spring. I want to
thank PC Park McRitchiefor helping out on this
project with special pric-ing on the pump and
working with me to de-sign and produce the
trailer.
The club will be hosting a
Lake Erie Weather Semi-nar in the spring. Thedate for the seminar is
May 18th , 2014. This is anall-day seminar focusingon weather patterns and
conditions that are uniqueto the Great Lakes area. The cost will be $25.00per person and will in-clude lunch. Fliers areavailable at the bar for
your review and a sign-upsheet will be started in
February.
A big thanks toSteve Alexander and the20 members that cameout for the Fall Riser
Party. It made for quick
work on a project that
can be quite tiring whenyou dont have a large
group.

First, the vote forthe project will not be atthe December meeting.
The new proposed dateto hold the vote will be at
the March 6thmember-ship meeting. The Board
has decided to gathermore information on cost
from different DesignBuild contractors. I can
report that the regulatoryissues previously men-
tioned have been resolvedin our favor. Once we
have more information, it
will be shared at amonthly membershipmeeting or the Jib Sheet.
