The day will begin with a guided walk through the Company’s Garden that was created during the mid-17th century to supply ships with fresh produce. It is also home to the South Africa Museum, House of Parliament, National Gallery, St George’s Cathedral and Cape Town’s ‘Jewish Campus.’

From the gardens guests will go to the ‘JEWISH CAMPUS’ and explore the SOUTH AFRICAN JEWISH MUSEUM that was opened by Nelson Mandela in 2000, visit the oldest Synagogue, which was founded in 1841 and the Holocaust Centre.

Next up is WHATIFTHEWORLD GALLERY in Woodstock. The gallery is housed in an old Syna-gogue complex with a very interesting history. Woodstock has become the art and design hot-spot of Cape Town.

From Woodstock guests will visit the IRMA STERN MUSEUM in Rondebosch. The museum is the Artist’s home in which she lived after returning to South Africa in 1920. Irma Stern was a Jewish artist who had a big influence on the development of modern art in South Africa. She was also a collector of African artefacts, and these objects as well as her paintings can be viewed in the museum.

The last stop of the day is at JOHANS BORMAN ART GALLERY in Newlands. What makes this gallery unique is that it offers the opportunity to buy works by our old masters, Irma Stern, Alexis Preller, Gerard Sekoto and Gregoire Boonzaier.
