Four Things Drive Peter to His Knees

Miracle.
4. The nature of the one benefited by
the miracle.
Peter’s 4 Qualifications to Follow

about and had more control over the
area in which where he felt the greatest
expertise.
3. He was humble and repentant

Luke 6:12
In these days he went out to the mountain to pray,
and all night he continued in prayer to God.
Luke 9:28-29
Jesus took with him Peter and John and James and went up on the mountain to pray. 29 And as
he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his
clothing became dazzling white.
Daniel 9:20-23While I was speaking and praying, confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and making my request to the LORD my God for his holy hill-- 21
while I was still in prayer, Gabriel, the man I had seen in the earlier vision, came to me in swift flight
about the time of the evening sacrifice. 22 He instructed me and said to me, "Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. 23 As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given,
which I have come to tell you…”
Luke 9:23-25
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up
his cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but
whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. 25 For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or
forfeits himself?
Romans 10:1-10 (Msg)Believe me, friends, all I want for Israel is what's best for Israel: salvation, nothing less. I want it with all my heart and pray to God for it all the
time. 2 I readily admit that the Jews are impressively energetic regarding God—but they are doing everything exactly backwards. 3 They don't seem to realize that this comprehensive setting-things-right that is salvation is God's
business, and a most flourishing business it is
Romans 10:1-10 (Msg)Right across the street they set up their own salvation shops and noisily hawk their wares. After all these years of refusing to really deal with God on his terms, insisting instead on
making their own deals, they have nothing to show for it. 4 The earlier revelation was intended
simply to get us ready for the Messiah, who then puts everything right for those who trust
him to do it.
Romans 10:1-10 (Msg)Moses wrote that anyone who insists on using the law code to live right before God soon discovers it's not so easy—every detail of life regulated by
fine print! 6 But trusting God to shape the right living in us is a different story—no precarious climb up to
heaven to recruit the Messiah, 7 no dangerous descent into hell to rescue the Messiah. 8 So what exactly was Moses saying? The word that saves is right here, as near as the tongue in your mouth, as
close as the heart in your chest
Romans 10:1-10 (Msg)It's the word of faith that welcomes God to go to work
and set things right for us. This is the core of our preaching. 9 Say the welcoming word to God—"Jesus is my Master"—embracing, body and soul, God's work
of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead. That's it. You're not "doing" anything; you're
simply calling out to God, trusting him to do it for you. That's salvation. 10 With your whole being you
embrace God setting things right, and then you say it, right out loud: "God has set everything right between
him and me!"

First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their
repentance by their deeds.
2 Corinthians 7:10-11
Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but
worldly sorrow brings death. 11 See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to
clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern, what
readiness to see justice done.
