John Cabot was born in 1450 in the Italian

port of Genoa. John Cabot was born as

Giovanni Caboto.

Marriage

In 1474 John Cabot married a girl named

Mattea. They had three sons named

Ludovico, Sebastiano, and Sancto.

Moving

In the 1490's John Cabot, his wife, and their

three sons moved to the sea port of Bristol

England.

Sailing

The English King Henry V11 granted John

Cabot the right to seek islands and countries

of the West, East, and North sailing under

the English flag. Paying John a anormous

amount of money.

Explorering

On June 9th 1497 John Cabot reaches the

New World.

26 June 1497: Cabot begins his return

voyage.

On June 11 1498 John Cabot assembles a

fleet of 5 ships and 300 men. The fleet

headed north along the east coast of

America past Newfoundland in what is now

known as Canada.
