IDENTIFICATION OF THE ISSUE WITHIN THE COMMUNITY• The students consider that the lack of

information about new routes and ways to get to somewhere safely considering the quality of sidewalks, existence of crosswalks and the safety for pedestrians is important to our community besides the lack of information about safety and mobility.

The knowledge of road and mobility safety is essential to be able to follow the established rules to have a more secure and efficent comunity for drivers and pedestrians.

As a consequence of not having the best routes established people choose to use the most popular, common and crowded routes causing gridlocks and therefore the risk of possible

accidents increase.

RELEVANCE OF THE APPROACH

• The objetive of the Project is to cause a positive impact on our school community and achieve a benefic change in the school community.

• The students were looking for a modern and new way to get the attention of the students of high school 14

• The app also has emergency numbers. the closest police station, hospital and national emergency

CAPACITY TO TRANSMIT THE MESSAGE• The first challenge of the team was to find the best way to distribute the information

(concept of the app), the first idea that came up to them was to use flyers, posters or a advertising campaign using the social networks. And after a long week of analyzing the behaviour of their school mates they realized that all of the students had cellphones or smartphones (most of them powered by Android), so thats how they came up with the idea.

• After that, the students came up with the idea of going to every single classroom to distribute the app via Bluetooth and give short conferences to talk about how easy is to use the app and how to use it

The cellphone (Smartphone) was the main idea to develop this Project using Android as the plataform of

the app where we display all of our research, information, emergency numbers of establishments within the zone where our school is located, and the

best routes to get to high school 14

IMPACT• The Project made a positive impact on

the high school 14, teaching students how important is to get to school through a safe route and how important is to have good sidewalks, crosswalks and security for the pedestrians. And the best part of it is that the school can start providing the app to their students.

INTERESTING FACTS

• The last semester the students had the chance to teach elementary school kids the basic things about road and mobility safety because in high school 14 people really want to make a difference in society and emphasize about how important it truly is to know all of this things since we are kids
