Hello. My name is Jessica Hunt. I am an industrial and graphic designer, residing in Atlanta, Georgia. Do have a look through my portfolio, and please feel free to contact me.

BeoSink If Bang & Olufsen Made a Sink “Designer Jessica Hunt answers with a rather interesting concept. Her take is a sleek brushed steel tube with a long notch along one side for water to flow. No knobs or taps; a sim-ple swipe across the arm turns it on. It offers various levels of hot and cold water through lateral touch points and comes with a handy spray. It even includes a pyramid base, which doubles as a soap dispenser. How very B&O – stark and highly functional.

Va Bene: Go WellThe average coffee maker involves more than thirty steps and daily disposal of paper filters. Starbucks alone is re-sponsible for the use of more than 2 billion paper cups and plastic tops, annually.VA Bene Portable Coffee Maker solves these issues through simplifying a ritual that has remained largely un-changed for decades. Coffee grounds are stored in the lid, and water is warmed by the smart phone programmable base, which heats liquid through magnetic induction. As the warmed water flows through the grounds only as you tilt to drink, you receive the freshest coffee possible.

Hermes DeskHermes is a product that allows fluidity between college studio and a graduate’s first steps into the the realm of professional work - the desk is expandable, portable, and maintains an air of professional styling in its handicap accessible, lightweight bent plywood design. In designing Hermes, we addressed the primary needs of sev-eral studio functions: materials storage, electronics and tool power, adequate lighting, sketching, light table, and modeling surfaces, and suitable space for engaging critique and formal presentation.

DDK RockerDee Dee Kim was a 5’5” uncomfortable computer user with a sunny disposition. Fed up with chairs that didn’t fit her small frame, or her working needs, DeeDee asked me to design a solution - I came up with the DDK Rocker - custom fit, custom made, and even bearing Deeds’ initials in its frame - which includes a removable back pillow that doubles as a laptop desk.

Accessory DesignThis projects’ roots lay within two specific parameters: The first, at left, in using found and recyled materials to create elegant, simple jewelry, and the second, be-low, to rapidly create organic forms using acrylic and laser cutting technology. The necklace at left was born in exploring Chinatown, San Francisco, and the necklace below based on bio-logical forms of radiolaria.

Elise LampThe Elise Lamp is a ready to assemble, zero waste pack-aging product. Contained at the point of purchase within a paint can, which doubles as the lamp’s base, the light twists into the paint can top, then aluminum petals can be placed around the light, creating various levels of shading to suit your specific ambient environment.

Web DesignWeb design experience began in working with Adobe Dreamweaver, and has since expanded to building web-sites for clients in California, Washington, D.C., Connecti-cut, and Zambia using both Dreamweaver and Drupal. Teva Research + RedesignAn elementary exercise in improving an existing product, this in-depth project involved evaluating, testing, experimenting, and even dissecting teva sandals. User interviews and ethnographic research were conducted, and a heavy emphasis was placed on improving safety and comfort of the shoe. The resulting shoe contains breathable pores in the sole, a pro-tective cage toe design, and a side swipe imprint system that helps wick water from the shoe sides in the stead of capturing and holding water in the base, improving the wearer’s experience.

Falling Water is an exploration of sen-sible form, clean design, and the juxta-position of austere cantilevers against precarious positioning and playful graphic treatment. The plate set’s namesake provided the backdrop for design exploration of fa-milial proportional relationships, and is doubly inspirational through not only form, but the flowing pour from cup, to saucer, to dinner plate.

Reliableash is an exercise in improving an existing product. Current retractable leashes pose the ability to cause leash burns, flying snap-back metal closures, injured pets, and even finger amputations. Reliableash solves these issues, and adds convenient features like an easy closure tab and doggie bag holder.

SketchesThe ability to rapidly convey ideas in a simple and meaning-ful way is one of a designer’s most valuable assets. I have a vested and continual interest in fine arts, and have years of experience in a variety of media, including sketching, rendering, painting, and digital design.
