There will be thousands of visitors who are attracted to the wide range of sensations awaiting them at the fair ground or in the charming city of Jerez. The horses, the Flamenco and the Sherry produce an atmosphere which makes the Feria a unique experience not to be missed. The Jerez Horse Fair (Feria del Caballo) is an exciting and lively event that brings the entire city to the Gonzalo Hontoria Fairgrounds, which cover 52,000 square metres, giving ample space for the finest horses of Jerez as synonymous with the city as sherry and flamenco, to show off their moves to the crowds. Usually the mornings host all kinds of horse related activities such as high school dressage, carriage competitions, accoso y arriba, international show-jumping competitions, vaulting, select livestock exhibitions and auctions. However, the highlight of the Jerez Horse Fair is undoubtedly the "Como Bailan los Caballos Andaluces " or the 'Dancing Andalusian Horses' performed by the world famous Royal Equestrian School of Art.

From around lunchtime the activities start taking place at the fair ground. People eat, drink and dance in many of the beautifully decorated casitas (small bars) along the streets of the fair ground, and enjoy the sight of the beautiful horses which parade the streets. The Feria is certainly one of the biggest street parties in Spain.A trip to 'The annual Jerez Horse Fair' should certainly be on the agenda not only of all horse lovers but also for anyone who wants to sample a taste of rural Spain at its very best.
