Every once and a while a new talent arrives that just cannot be overlooked. Born in France and raised in Canada and the United Kingdom, Angelo Tristan blends his honest and pure approach to rock with a healthy dose of American country and the result is a musical style that is universal in its appeal. With an approach to songwriting and composition that speaks of everyday life and its challenges, Angelo’s lyrics are delivered with a powerful yet sympathetic voice that you cannot help but to take notice of. Combined with his solid acoustic and electric guitar execution and an assembly of talented backing musicians, he uses his natural charisma to build an instant rapport with an audience which allows him to back up his recorded music with an engaging live performance that involves the crowd from the first song. Angelo draws on an extensive catalogue of his own material that spans hard hitting and memorable rock compositions that have you singing along from the first verse to romantic ballads that are almost haunting in their relevance to peoples emotions. While his ideal performance format is with his full backing band, he is equally comfortable in playing acoustically to small venues without ever losing the impact that his voice delivers. Since releasing his EP in 2012, he has built a solid fan base both in the UK and America and in late 2013 is back in the studio working on a series of new singles for pre release before a full album in early 2014. “When Faith Breaks is a really upbeat and energetic rock anthem. It contains elements of pop rock and American punk whilst still retaining the testosterone filled rhythms of a classic hard rock fist pumper. The vocals are great and exceptionally powerful in parts yet managing to turn off the rasp in the more slower sections. Hitting all the right notes and picking some real nice melodies. In the middle section there’s a great part with lots of voices clashing together that breaks up the song really nicely. Instrumentally it seems pretty simple with a listenable guitar solo that isn’t painfully simple but doesn’t rip your face, a nice mix with some great lines. The piano brings some light on the song which would otherwise be a pretty heavy song. Overall the track reminds me of the modern classics of Ginger Wildheart. There’s even a talk box, that isn’t overly exploited like some huge bands do. The whole piece is really uplifting and really passionate. ... The man has a great voice and I’m sure he is versatile enough to sing on many other genres of music. Look forward to hearing more. I give it an 8/10” Aiden Cluces acblogreview.wordpress.com

“It’s always a breath of fresh air to hear of a solo artist picking up their first instrument at a young age, and knowing in their heart what they strive to be as the years fly by and everybody else is sat twiddling their thumbs.

This is the story of Angelo Tristan, who upon hearing Bon Jovi’s ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’ at the age of 8 decided that he wanted to create a musical sound with a difference. He went on to pick up his first guitar when he turned 12, and thus started to write songs that would hopefully crack him into the music industry.

Originally Tristan started out in a band he formed at school, The Difference Between, for which he wrote his first song Moving On; gaining inspiration from personal family issues to create a song that would reflect his emotions.

I have done my research and listened to the few tracks I could find that were performed by the band, and I can understand his decision to leave in pursuits of a solo career after four years; Angelo is clearly the front man and main attraction of the band, and with his infectious voice and original sound, there seems to be little need or emphasis on a back up band.

His new single ‘I’m Coming Home Tonight’ features the soft sound of country rock accompanied by Tristan’s husky voice which only works in favour of his innovative sound.

Together with an edgy and memorable guitar solo in the bridge, which provides a dramatic change of pace from the beginning of the song, all the correct elements are in place to make this a strong release and potential hit. I hope to be seeing and certainly hearing a lot more of Angelo Tristan in the very near future.”
