• Most bushrangers lived rough, in the bush in New south Wales and victoria.

• They would sometimes live with friends or family, or sometimes in barns and outhouses

• Some of them stole previsions owned by the settlers in outlying areas, helping themselves freely to salted foods.

• During the Australian gold rush period bushrangers wore the typical dress of the day.

• That is moleskin, cord material trousers, shirts with long sleeves and collars

• Sometimes a the wore waistcoat over the top. • They often wore a cravat on neckerchief under the collar

like a tie and a straw because it was made locally from the plaited palm leaf

• In the beginning, the first bushrangers were escaped convict, but not survive the conditions of the bush.
