My responsibilities at Global Imaging Systems included developing thecorporate IT strategy, the design, implementation and management of their nationwide, private network and the information systems integration of acquired companies. I managed the corporate IT department and directed the IT Managementlocated at the operational core companies across the country.

The primary purpose of the private network was to enable corporate headquarters to gather information from the dealership entities for financial and operational reporting. This was instrumental in meeting SEC public financial reporting requirements and measuring key performance indicators against operational benchmarks for company stack ranking. Additionally, this network supported 5,000+ employees with services ranging from gateway operations for network security, Internet access and website hosting to mobile communications and remote access.

The corporate IT team I managed was responsible for the information systems integration of acquisitions to enable network communications and financial reporting. This included Active Directory and Exchange Organization migrations, standardization of ERP systems’ policy controls, data normalization and merging of databases. The integration process deliverables required an aggressive schedule to meet public financial reporting requirements, which my team consistently achieved for all project expectations. Additionally, this team was also responsible for helpdesk, IT Management and ERP systems client training and support.

I was also responsible for the Sarbanes-Oxley IT Compliance oversight and implementation of standard practices for all operational entities. I was in charge of negotiating multi-million dollar software and data/voice services related contracts for the entire corporation. I also created and hosted semi-annual IT Manager Meetings for knowledge sharing and to communicate corporate requirements.

I started with DeCoursey Business Systems with the responsibility of implementing and training the staff on the OMD ERP system they had just purchased. I completed that project on my own and then hired an individual to assist with IT and payroll responsibilities. This role grew to include reporting and monthly remittance of sales taxes in four states, implementing ERP solution at branch offices in Minneapolis and Des Moines and supporting a 50+ user network.

I established a WAN between the HQ office in Overland Park and the Minneapolis and Des Moines locations. I was in charge of maintaining and expanding this network to support applications beyond the ERP system to include leasing company contracts management software, intercompany digital voice communications and a knowledge base to support service management and personnel.
