Articulated vision and mission for Center for International Business (CIB).
Shaped strategic direction and formulated long-term strategy.
Corporate Governance
Constituted external executive advisory board (International Business Advisory Board)
composed of executives from local businesses, Department of Commerce, World Trade
Center, and Port of New Orleans, among others.
Constituted an “Internal Governance Board” (IGB) composed of the dean of the College
of Business, director of the Center for International Business, and two distinguished
professors in international business.
Established “International Business Group” composed of faculty who teach courses in
international business, lead study abroad programs, and/or conduct research in
international business.
Business Community
Foster working relationships with the business community.
Actively work with members of the business community to promote Louisiana state
economic development, U.S. exports, foreign trade missions, foreign trade workshops,
and stronger relationships between Loyola University New Orleans and the New
Orleans and Baton Rouge business communities.
Work with World Trade Center (Oldest World Trade Center in United States).
Work with World Affairs Council (Hosts visiting international and government
dignitaries).
Fund-Raising and Budgeting
Established budget pro forma and formulated strategy to endow CIB through Office of

Awarded Loyola institutional membership in Consortium for Undergraduate International
Business Education (CUIBE) (Loyola is one of only 24 U.S. universities meeting
requirements for full membership in CUIBE.)
Undergraduate Programs in International Business
International Business Major: Restructured major in International Business to allow
students to earn a functional concentration in accounting, economics, finance,
management, or marketing without completing a double major.
Foreign Languages: Established foreign language requirements for International
Business majors and minors.
Area Studies: Established area studies requirements for International Business majors
and minors.
MBA Program
Honduras: Signed agreement with Catholic University to establish a Loyola MBA

program in Honduras.
China: Current efforts to establish Loyola MBA in Hong Kong with Caritas Institute of
Higher Education.
Study Abroad and Foreign Exchange Programs
Brazil: New agreement signed to establish undergraduate exchange program with
Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro in August 2012.
England: Effort underway to establish student exchanges and senior, capstone consulting
projects with students at University of Chester.
Student Organization
Created new student organization called the “Global Business Association” (GBA).
Conduct annual “International Etiquette Dinner” each fall.
Conduct executive panel discussions on different region of the world each spring., which
is be open to all Loyola students.
Foreign Internships
Won approval to establish Loyola chapter of AIE-SEC, the world’s largest student-run
organization (1700 universities have chapters worldwide).
Chapter membership granted to Loyola in August 2011. (Loyola was one of only five
U.S. universities to be granted a chapter in 2011; 25 U.S. universities submitted
applications.)
AIE-SEC will be a springboard for bringing international students to the New Orleans
area and for developing foreign internship opportunities for Loyola students.
