One of her most notable efforts was her acvist work with Afro- German women in the '80s. She spoke on issues sur- rounding civil rights, feminism, and oppression. Her work gained both wide acclaim and wide cricism, due to the elements of social liberalism and sexuality pre- sented in her work and her emphasis on revoluon and change. Her father from Barbados and her mother was Grenadian from the island of Carriacou. Lin-Manuel Miranda January 16, 1980A Caribbean-American actor, singer, rapper, songwriter, direc- tor, producer, and playwright. He is of Puerto Rican decent, and during his childhood and teen years would frequently visit his grandparents in Puerto Rico. He is best known for wring the hit Broadway musical Hamilton”, which details the life and death of our first Treasury Secretary, himself a Caribbean im- migrant. Lin-Manuel also wrote the hit musical In the Heights”, which focused on Dominican immigrants living in Washington Heights, New York City. Hes won an Emmy, a Pu- litzer Prize, three Tony awards, and a multude of others.
