1 Greetings! I am glad I was able to meet many of the 4-H families during the county fair this year! Hopefully I can continue to get to know you all more as the weeks go on. Congratulations to those selected to exhibit static projects at the special addition Iowa State Fair. Good luck to you and all those exhibiting livestock! I want to give a BIG shout out to our wonderful intern, Hallie Sandeen, for the amazing work she did for us this summer. She worked hard and was always a positive bubbly gal we needed in the office. We will miss her greatly as she goes back to Iowa State University to continue her studies in Agronomy. Thank you, Hallie! Awards Night

No date has been set for the 4-H awards

night at this time. If we are unable to hold a

night due to health concerns something to

recognize the kids will be put into place.

The Purpose of a Record Book?

The purpose of 4-H record keeping is to

reach how to keep records, which is an

important life skill. Record keep is an on

going process that does not end when the

4-H year ends. Learn to set goals, learn

record keeping and organizational skills,

learn to communicate, responsibility of task

completing, and to evaluate information

that will market personal skills. Record

books can be applied to be recognized for

county and state level awards!

Record Books Help Night

Current members do you need a refresher on

record books or maybe you have some

questions to ask? Come on out on August 30th

from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM @ Extension Office

to the help night. Must RSVP by August 26th to

Grace at the Extension office. You do not have

to stay the entire session. Bring your record

book, computer or any other supplies you may

need.

Extension and Outreach building January 10th

put everything together, and much more!

Record Book Evaluation

4-H’ers record books need to be handed

into club leaders by October 1st for evaluations

for the 2019—2020 4-H year.
