This letter of recommendation for Drew Carter is written to highlight the leadership, mentorship, and ability he

possesses to create community. I have known Drew since 1996 when he coached our 6th grade football team all

the way to win the kids bowl championship of Eugene. This is a memory that I will never forget, and an event

where my teammates bonded so tightly that we continued to achieve many wins over the following years.

Through my middle school years, Drew was an amazing mentor and leader for me, lending to my character and

helping mold a foundation for who I am today. I now hold a world-wide management position at PLEXSYS

Interface Products guiding a team of 10-16 employees to build complex simulators. Drew created a winning

environment that was fun and enjoyable, which led to a relationship well beyond my adolescent years.

Drew and I have maintained a close relationship, even when playing/coaching on opposing teams. This alone

demonstrates Drew’s uncanny ability to maintain relationships and create community for a lifetime, beyond the

confines of a football field. His philosophy as a coach drove a winning approach with a great attitude. He maintains

his professional composure both on and off the field, bringing passion and excitement to his staff and team.

I only hope to have the opportunity to coach with Drew at some point in my lifetime and he has my highest
