Dear ReaderThere ' s something spec ia l about la te summer here in Denmark – we espec ia l ly adore the month of August . Now i s the t ime for p ick ing wi ld b lackberr ie s f rom the thickets in the woods and enjoying a swim in r iver and lakes that have been warming up over the past few months . The weather in August i s of ten very agreeable and there ' s that very spec ia l scent in the a i r when you take a walk – sweet and a lmost tangible , le t t ing us know that i t ' s a lmost t ime for the harvest . It ' s a love ly t ime that many of us associate with t radi t ions and Denmark at i t s bes t . One day as we were going for a walk a long the dir t roads between the f ie lds , we suddenly spotted two set s of ears peeking out above the wheat . We had a headwind so the two animals d idn' t not ice us . As we moved c loser we saw that i t was two fa l low deer. The wheat was so ta l l that only the ears were peeking out . When they f ina l ly p icked up our scent , they ran a long through the f ie lds . It ' s so important that we remember to en joy moments l ike these ; to not a lways be in a rush in our day-to-day l ives with everyday chores and planning a l l o f the new things on our to-do l i s t but rather to s top and truly take t ime to enjoy the l i t t le th ings – exper iences in nature , wi th each other and when doing everyday tasks . It might a l so be the joy in making a new lampshade for your l iv ing room or the pr ide in having la id down a new f loor in the basement yourse l f , e spec ia l ly when you thought you couldn't do i t . We need to keep a careful eye out for them but there are so many things in which to take joy ! We hope that we can br ing you joy through a cozy and re lax ing t ime with our magaz ine and of fer p lenty of inspirat ion for the l i t t le th ings .

This apartment is truly a rare find. I'll admit that as I was standing with our photographer Dorte on the street, what was going through my head was: Does someone really live here with the French-Nordic country style? The exterior of the apartment building just looked so different from what we hoped to find inside. It's a very typical Danish apartment complex from the 1960s with a multitude of identical units as far as the eye can see – a huge contrast to the way that Anette and Erik have furnished their Frederiksberg apartment in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Idea:Apartments don't always have a lot of storage space. Anette's son gave her a stack of old military boxes. The bottom box has been fitted with wheels to make the entire stack easy to move, and the boxes can hold plenty of things – a

wonderful and alternative storage solution.

Anette swears by everything French. She loves old things and especially ones with personality and preferably a bit of visible wear. Anette loves the style and you have to admit that she has a talent for using all of the wonderful, old treasures in her decorating. Some were purchased on international trips. Berlin in particular is a favorite destination. The stack of beautiful, vintage, flax dish towels were found at a flea market in Berlin. Other items were bought here in Denmark at flea

markets or lifestyle stores.

It wasn't actually until Anette really started looking for old things that she found her style. Everything is put to use in this couple's home. These dish towels are of course used in the kitchen but otherwise they're displayed as a decoration here in the living room rather than being hidden away in a drawer. Anette also uses them

when setting the table for just a "dinner for two".
