Société Libanaise pour l’Industrie Jean Anid et Fils S.A.L. is a “General line decorative

Canmaker” company that has a wide variety of products. It is a pioneer in the canmaking

field in Lebanon and the Middle East/Africa region. Founded in 1930 by Jean Anid (1907-

2001), Jean Anid et Fils is rated No.1 in General Line Metal Packaging in Lebanon.

We have a large choice of Tinplate Decorated Cans ranging from 200 ml Cylindrical Cans

to 25 Liters Cylindrical and Conical Pails (Inside Pigmented and Powder Coated on Side

Seam), along with a wide range of Oblong/Rectangular cans.

We also produce various metal stamped products such as Battery Jacket Components.

Assembly of Printed Body Blanks with its Components

We can provide you with a total solution suitable to any type of packaging using

components; we can supply you with “semi-finished” cans (components and printed body

blanks) and assist you in assembly by offering our specially designed manual canmaking

lines along with the relevant tools and dies.

Cans are delivered as printed sheets along with the relevant components in cardboard

boxes. The user or paint manufacturers will be assembling the cans and the components

on a need basis according to their requirements.

The greatest benefit is derived from the fact that plain or decorated can bodies are

purchased in Body Blanks, practically taking the minimum space in the container or truck.

Thus, you will no longer be transporting “air” by expensive shipping of ready-made empty

cans.

Semi-Finished cans require relatively low investment in machinery. We can provide you

with all the machines needed that can be quickly installed and operated with ease by local

labor trained on the spot.

Becoming your own canmaker offers many advantages such as preventing insufficient local

production capacity thus granting a high and sustainable can quality and simple

maintenance.

Stackable Cans and Cylindrical/Conical Pails

In order to boost export and reach customers worldwide, we made it possible to stack a

significant amount of cans/pails in 20 feet, 40 feet and 40 feet-High cube containers and this

is proposed broadly through every product type in our catalogue.

Conical Pails are easily stacked in containers as well as Cylindrical Pails. Cylindrical Pails

are slightly made conical to be stackable. In addition smaller cans are also staked inside

bigger cans and pails.

In order to serve this purpose, Cylindrical Pails will be delivered upside down, with the top

lid seamed and the bottom lid delivered separately. Then the assembly of the bottom will be

performed at the customer’s premises.

The Globalization Objectives

The company’s objectives in this new era of globalization is to gain international recognition

and expand its production capacity to penetrate world markets with innovative products.

Jean Anid et Fils aims at establishing partnerships with international companies, and is

especially seeking to expand in the Middle East, in order to develop new canmaking

industries.

In addition, the new agreement of European Partnership with Lebanon – (EURO 1) will

render our products more competitive as it eliminates the custom duties between Lebanon

and the European community.

Through extensive R&D, Jean Anid et Fils has begun to manufacture complementary

feeders, conveyors and different accessories for some canmaking machine-systems for its

own use and for potential customers of semi-finished cans.

What do we mean by ‘Make your own cans’?We provide you with components and accessories for can assembly such as Body Blank, Top & Bottom Lids. You will then

assemble the semi-finished products yourself using manual canmaking lines.

Manual canmaking lines are easy to operate, and are relatively low-investment machinery. Can manufacturing will now yield

high profits through savings on shipping costs, less storage space and import duties and benefits from tax relief.

No longer transport of expensive airThe greatest benefit is derived from the fact that plain or decorated can bodies are purchased in Body Blanks, practically

taking the minimum storage space in the container or truck. Thus, you will no longer be transporting `air' by expensive

shipping of ready-made empty cans.

You may qualify instead for tax relief from the local government and save on import duties. All such benefits may add up to

total savings of as high as 50%, compared to the practice of purchasing assembled empty cans.

You will just need 4 separate machines, each with one operator and a simpleconveying system in between the machines :

Rolling Machine; to reshape the body into a circular body

Body Welding Machine

Flanger; to flange both ends of the body

Seamer; to fit the Lid / Ring and Bottom on the body

Changing to other can diameters is simple using separate tooling easy to mount

This same technology is applicable to the manufacturing of rectangular cans, for instance cans for mineral and edible oil.

Rectangular cans or Conical / Cylindrical Pails, need one additional machine: the “Body Expander / Flanger / Beader”.

This machine, next in line to the welding, shapes the flanging of the body.

The line is then composed of: Roller, Welder, Body Flanger / Beader, Side Flanger Bottom / Lid Seamer.
