Starting in his garage in racine,

Wisconsin, uSA, John oster set up

the oster Manufacturing Company,

which made electric shavers and hair

clippers, becoming the manufacturer

of choice for professionals in the

grooming industry.

1946oster diversified the business and

began manufacturing small household

electrical appliances. Shortly after,

Mr. oster introduced the first osterizer™

blender. initially it was conceived

to prepare shakes in the soft drinks

fountains, but it soon became a

household essential. The company

introduced other

juice extractors,

mixers and

toasters. The

oster™ brand

grew to become a

1960The oster Manufacturing Company

was purchased by the Sunbeam

Corporation of Chicago. it continued
