Unlike the Warren Commission, convened by President Lyndon
B. Johnson in 1963, the 1979 report of the House Select Committee
on Assassinations determined that "On the basis of the evidence
available to it, President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated
as a result of a conspiracy."
Although the House Select Committee would determine that a
probable conspiracy was involved in President Kennedy's death, like
its predecessor, it would fail in its mission. In effect, the 1977
committee imparted no more clarification as to the actual motive
for the crime or its perpetrators. Former Rep. Thomas N. Downing
of the First District of Virginia, who was the first chairman of the
House Select Committee, would be one of the first people to express
his disappointment over the committee's findings.

information that was not available to either the Warren Commission
or the House Select Committee. It is information dealing with cer-
tain militant anti-Castro exiles -- their ties to labor and organized
crime, their attitudes about the Bay of Pigs and Cuban Missile Crisis,
and their part in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
(Fade to file footage of McClellan Hearings showing scenes of Bobby Kennedy with James Hoffa and Carlos Marcello, with Narrator in background)
To understand the complete story, we must go as far back as
1957 when Robert F. Kennedy was chief counsel to the McClellan Senate
Select Committee on Improper Practices. It was while serving on this
committee that Bobby Kennedy's vow to stop organized crime brought
him into a head-to-head confrontation with James Riddle Hoffa, power-
ful president of the Teamsters Union.
The Teamsters were vital to organized crime. Under Jimmy Hoffa,
the union provided the criminal syndicate with tens of millions of
dollars in "loans", jobs and respectability. Through the Teamsters,
organized crime, which was to become known as the Mafia in the late
1950's, had a handhold on the nation's jugular. Hoffa's closeness to
the mob was such that his grievances automatically become their grie-
vances, and his enemies, their enemies. In New York alone, federal
investigators discovered forty union "officials" who were actually
members of the Mafia families. Among them they had 77 convictions for
crimes including theft, narcotics, forgery, possession of stolen mail,
robbery, and accessory to murder. By 1960, the Teamsters' Central
States Pension Fund was known by federal authorities to be "the
lending agency for the syndicate", with hundreds of millions of dol-
lars tied up in Las Vegas casinos and hotels operated by the mob. In
Florida, Teamster millions financed Mafia controlled apartment build-
ings, hospitals, condominiums, hotels, motels, and country clubs.
In the following few years, organized crime and its hold on
labor would become an obsession with both of the Kennedy brothers.
An obsession which Carlos Marcello, one of the Mafia's most powerful
dons, would swear to do something about. He vowed to kill the Presi-
dent. Marcello's proclamation of death occurred shortly
after John Kennedy became president and appointed his
-3-
brother as attorney general. On April 4th, 1961, just two weeks
before the CIA's ill-fated invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs, the
young Attorney General illegally ordered Marcello's deportation.

Although the young Attorney General didn't know it, Marcello's
close relationship with another Mafia leader, Florida's Santos

assassination squads.

Another infamous group of CIA-trained Cuban exile assassins
was known as Operation Forty. The man who was the CIA coordinator
for Operation Forty was an Army Intelligence Colonel known to the
Cubans as Oscar del Valle Garcia or Oscar the Assassin. His real
name is Col. C. William Bishop,..-U.S. Army Ret., who at the time of
this broadcast is terminally ill and dying of cancer in Mexico.

bout a number of unsolved areas in the President's assassination,
and it all started on a Monday evening in February of this year
when Robert D. Morrow, author of Kennedy assassination book
Betrayal received a telephone call.

Bishop's name is not new in intelligence circles and, in fact,
has been the subject of tremendous controversy since 1975 when his
name first surfaced as a possible CIA link between Lee Harvey Oswald
and Antonio Veciana of the Cuban exile movement.

After his visit to Dallas, Morrow would spend several months
documenting and confirming Bishop's disclosures. The outcome would
be that he would be convinced that recalcitrant Cuban exile groups,
along with the Mafia and organized labor, set up a coalition to
murder the President. Some of these revelations Bishop admitted to
before he fled the country to Mexico.
For example, Bishop claimed that from 1961-63 he was the CIA
man selected to personally report to President Kennedy on all
matters pertaining to Cuba.

1962.

Another disturbing revelation spelled out by Bishop is that
under CIA orders he was the one that led the team that assassinated
President Rafael Trujillo of the Dominican Republic on May 30, 1961,
and in fact it was Bishop's own M-3 submachine gun that killed
Trujillo and his driver.

It was after this assassination of a head of state just five
weeks after the Bay of Pigs that Bishop claims organized crime
chiefs Sam (Momo) Giancana, Santos Trafficante and Carlos Marcell()
started to really pour money into the most militant of the exile
organizations. According to Bishop, these were Antonio Veciana's
Alpha 66 group which had teamed up with an ex-Cuban army major by
the name of Eloy Gutierrez Menoyo whose organization was known as
the Second National Front of the Escambrey or SNFE, and the Movi-
miento Insurreccional de Recuperation Revolucionaria or MIRR, head-
_6 _
ed by a Cuban terrorist named Orlando Bosch. According to the House
Select Committee, Bosch has had a considerable history of violence,
the latest of which included numerous bombing incidents, one of
which was the destruction of a Cubana Airline plane in October 1975
which killed 73 people. He was also linked to the assassination
bombing of Orlando Letelier in Washington, D.C. and an attempt on
the life of Henry Kissinger.
It was these three groups, Bishop claims, which formed the
nucleus of an organization known as the Junta del Gobierno de Cuba
en el Exilio or the Cuban Government in Exile. This organization,
whose titular head was an ex-Cuban businessman named Mario Garcia
Kohly, according to the House Select Committee was directly linked 1.■•••=. to organized crime, and some of its groups had reportedly been in
contact with Lee Harvey Oswald.
It was Kohly who Morrow was associated with in a massive
counterfeiting operation to print Cuban pesos; and in August of 1961
Kohly's organization was responsible for making Castro change the
Cuban currency. Both men were arrested for this ongoing operation
in October of 1963 on orders of Bobby Kennedy.

From 1960 to 1964, Bishop claimed the mob funneled their cash
through a man named Rolando Masfarrer. Masfarrer was a former Cuban
Mafia leader who had worked closely with all of the Mafia's Havana
operations prior to Castro.

When Rolando Masfarrer told Bishop that Veciana's Alpha 66
group on Harlandale Street in Dallas had carried out the presiden-
tial assassination, it confirmed what Santos Trafficante, Jr., a
funder of Alpha 66 through Masfarrer, had said to a Cuban businessman named Jose Aleman that "Kennedy was going to be hit."
To further substantiate his claim of the anti-Castro Cuban
involvement with the Mafia in the President's assassination, Bishop
claimed that Jack Ruby, the assassin of Lee Harvey Oswald, worked as
a gunrunner for Alpha 66 and he (Bishop) personally met with him on several occasions, caarli........ sdoxa latofv in Warren Com- mission Report and the House Select Committee Report.

Another man whom Bishop claims had used Lee Harvey Oswald's
name in Dallas, Mexico City and New Orleans, is mentioned by the House Select Committee. His name was Thomas Eli Davis III, a soldier
of fortune who, according to Bishop, was associated with Jack Ruby's
gunrunning, connected to the CIA's assassination apparatus and
closely associated with Veciana's Alpha 66 through Rolando Mas-
farrer. •
\
Bishop, as case officer to Mario Kohly and Veciana, said that
he personally knew Lee Harvey Oswald was in the Lake Ponchetrain
training camp of Alpha 66 in Louisiana.
In addition, Bishop says that he met Clay Shaw, the man New
r
-8-
Orleans District Attorney James Garrison charged in a conspiracy to
kill the President in 1967 -- except his name was Clay Bertram when
he was introduced. Shaw had been positively identified by the House
Select Committee as being with Oswald in Clinton, Louisiana, along
with a David Ferrie, a man Morrow says he knew and flew into Cuba
with on the night of the Bay of Pigs. Ferrie was also the personal
pilot of Mafia boss Carlos Marcello.
Of all Bishop's claims, however, one of the most startling
was his admission that he assassinated Carlos Rodriguez Quesada.
Quesada was, in the spring of 1963, appointed head of internal af-
fairs for Mario Kohly's Government in Exile and the man who ran
Veciana's Alpha 66 organization in Dallas. When it appeared
Quesada might talk about what he knew about the assassination,
Bishop says he killed him on an exile training mission.

In addition to Quesada's murder, Bishop admitted killing
Gilberto Rodriguis Hernandez, military coordinator of Mario Kohly's
Cuban Government in Exile, for being a double agent.
Bishop said when it appeared that the Senate Select Committee
in 1973 began investigating the Kennedy assassination, former CIA
Director William Colby told him, .to go underground in order not to
disclose any of the information he knew as a case officer to Kohly,
Veciana and Masfarrer.

Although Bishop would not let Morrow tape several admissions,
-9-
he did tell him about his being in Chicago when Sam (Momo) Giancana was assassinated on June 19, 1975, less than a few days prior to his testifying before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Mat-
ters about Jack Kennedy's assassination.
What surprised Morrow was that Bishop, off the record, osten-sibly admitted killing Teamster President James Hoffa in Windsor,
Ontario, Canada, on July 30, 1975. Bishop claimed to Morrow and
several other witnesses, one of whom was former Rep. Thomas Downing, first chairman of the House Select Committee, that he fired three shots in the back of Hoffa's head with a .22 calibre
pistol so that the union leader could not be called to testify about mob involvement in the Kennedy assassination.

Incredible as all these events might seem coming 20 years
after John Fitzgerald Kennedy's death; nonetheless, it has surfaced.
And, the man who may not admit he had a part in the conspiracy him-
self has admitted to some pretty damning actions to keep it covered up. Bishop freely admitted he was in Dallas that day on a special
li
assignment. He also claims he was at Parkland Hospital when the President died and a pristine bullet mysteriously appeared on a stretcher outside Trauma Room One.
Bishop claims he was the bne identified as the military ialiel-jigence man whose name was never mentioned.
According to Morrow, from past experience, Bishop seems to be
the mostly likely candidate to have engineered the President's death. Will we know before he dies or will the rest of his secrets be buried with him?

I've marked it up if you want togo over it. Of all the many possible errors in the JFK assassination field, the one moot

There in a conspiracy to keep me fron worideig, the newest the gremlins that got into my car (150,190 mileage total). I'm surprised that, after t , mud lots Ficaaneo in his office at all. The first two erafav us I recall, told me it was a fake. From beginning to and. All of it.
I'd like to know how far along it is and if them is no objection, try to blow it in advance, as I think I can.
I rather suspect that the address given is Fiorrou's homes and that there really is nothing extant called 3.13.S & Asaociate°, Iii. itoa, except Morrou.
BO's taken nut stories, mee already dinproven, ana woven in some of his own fabrication of a nature he thought not checkable. Some of his fabrications wore careless. For example, there was no Alpha training camp on the othee aide of Pon/Achartlins and nothing at all that could he oulaorl a real trainiee coop.
I don't know why you don't want to talk aboutnthis on the phone, because there is nothing to it but fakery, but I'd be interested in the background you refer to.
I'd also be intereatod in laming his "Bishbp" foetago — if it exists. Booaum no much depends on a single source, oven those who know nothing at all
