Nov 2007 – Sep 2011 Position: Senior Drilling Engineer Full responsibility for designing, planning and carrying out well operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively in accordance with ADTI and customer objectives, policies and procedures. Typically this would involve preparing and submitting documents to governmental departments, producing well specific documents such as the Detailed Drilling Programme, Risk Assessments, as well as chairing planning and operational meetings and managing auxiliary and junior members of the project team. Experience of preparing Drilling Programmes, Well Notification/Consent application’s, PON15B & F submissions, OPEP submissions, Geophysical & Geotechnical Site Survey’s and management of operations, drilling rig selection, Risk Assessments, Casing Design calculations, Kick Tolerance calculations in compliance with Customer/ADTI policies, costs supervision, AFE & Turnkey bid generation, producing contracts, chairing of operational meetings and conference calls, project Close-Out, EOWR, supervision of drilling engineers, logistics coordinators and cost tracking personnel.

Additional Information: The decommissioning campaign for HESS consisted of 3 wells and required two different intervention vessels, each with different facets of the overall programme to complete. This campaign required extremely detailed cement programmes to be designed, involving techniques and equipment which were a first for the UKCS. Numerous contingency plans for coping with multiple failure scenarios were planned for and constant communications with authorities such as the HSE was paramount. My position on this project also involved creating programmes and procedures which could not adhere to the Oil & Gas UK guidelines and also involved highly significant supervision of staff and contract personnel, both within and outside of ADTI. Feb 2002 – Mar 2004 Position: Trainee Engineer

Experience gained of conventional, underbalanced and low-head drilling operations in the Southern North Sea, while working as a roughneck on the GSF Britannia. Also worked as a roustabout, on the GSF Arctic III. Additionally, when the rig entered dry-dock, I was also part of the Project Engineering Team responsible for the major upgrade of the rig.

INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF WORK

In my leisure time I participant in several sports. I am currently a member of Stonehaven Golf Club, Aberdeen Squash Racquets Club (Mannofield) and I like to snowboard in the winter. I also enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures, having recently returned from a tour of Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Chile.
