Having had a personal interest in social, economic & political issues, documentary photography was simply a natural choice. Documentary photography has also given a new life to my background in visual art and multimedia design. The understanding of aesthetics and human interaction design, acquired through my university studies and work experience, has made it easy for me to generate story ideas and to present stronger photo essays. Skills: High level technical knowledge of Photography, cameras, lighting systems & post processing. Able to shoot in digital, 35mm film and medium format film. Good social and communication skills. Able to speak in English, Persian, Dari & Bahasa Indonesia. Able to handle all the following steps in developing a photo essay: Coming up with a story idea Doing the initial research and investigations Finding local connections and fixers in order to get reasonable access Conducting interviews Getting to locations and doing field photo shoots while maintaining professional working ethics and results Editing the initial photo collections in order to narrow down to a smaller selection to be submitted to the photo editor Doing post-production photo touch ups and edits both in film and digital format Creating a full story flow Writing a short description and photo captions Experience: Photo essays: 2014 An view into the lives of the transsexual community in KL (work in progress) 2013 Working conditions of Afghan refugees across Iran. Has worked as a commercial photographer for many corporations in Malaysia such as, Panasonic Malaysia, BRDB, KLCC, Berjaya University, Malaysian Airlines, Malaysian Energy Department, Yoshinoya Malaysia, 9 Months Clothing Line, Kakiseni Malaysia. Coordinator, slideshow curator, designer and contributor for Obscura Photography Festival in Penang Malaysia and Monsoon Master Classes. Photography has given me the opportunity to express myself and find my place in society.
