Recreational Programs

• Senior Tamils Society: $103,200 over36 months to hire a part timecoordinator to organize volunteers to

run a range of recreationalprogramming for isolated Senior Tamilsthat will improve their physical andsocial well-being.

Increased physical activity

• Health and Community Services:$62,500 over two years to improvephysical activity programs targeted toolder adults and to enhance trainingand support to leaders and volunteerfitness and program instructors

through a collaborative partnership ina rural area.

Increased health & wellbeing

• Community Care: $282,500 over fiveyears to provide programming for low-income South Asian seniors that willallow them to become moreindependent, have a healthier lifestyleand opportunities to socialize while

learning about what supports areavailable in their communities.

Community Engagement

• Centre for Ecology: $80,000 over two yearsto engage youth, seniors and communitymembers from low-income communities to

create a vision for the future of their ownneighbourhoods. Participants will join withurban design practitioners to capture ideas tomake their surroundings more livable. Out ofthe working sessions, 3D virtual plans will bedeveloped and participants will have theknowledge, tools and confidence to discusstheir vision for their neighbourhood.

Helping Orgs Better Serve Seniors

• The Good Neighbours' Club:$225,000 over 36 months to hire acoordinator to develop a more formal

volunteer management system that willallow for more homeless men age 50and over to participate in outreach andrecreational programs

Mobility & Transportation

• Community and Home Assistanceto Seniors: $66,200 over 12 monthsto increase organizational and

program capacity. Funding will beused to purchase an automatedscheduling system to support the

organization's transportation programwhich serves 70,000 Seniors.

Better Access to Services

• Meals on Wheels: $142,800 over 24months to support a community

outreach manager who will conductcommunity awareness activities andcontact seniors who are isolated andmay be in need of meal programs or

other social and support programsoffered by this organization.

• Alzheimer Society of Ontario -$225,000 over one year to

support staff and externalexpertise to integrate servicesand develop commonoperational and humanresource functions for chapterorganizations across theprovince.
