    year in Osaka.

    Cherry blossom viewing ( Hanami)

The Cherry blossom (or sakura) come in to bloom around late

late march/early april in Osaka (dates of bloom vary across the

nation). During spring people go in large groups to parks across

the city and drink beer and play games while sitting under the

blossoming sakura trees. Bampaku kinen kouen park is a very

good place for cherry blossom viewing, as is the Osaka Castle

    Park.

    Fireworks ( Hanabi)

During summer (the firework festivals usually start around July)

there are numerous firework festivals all across Japan. There is

nothing to compare with them in Australia, you just have to go

and experience them! But beware, there are more people here

than most other festivals!! Many people, male and female, dress

up in expensive kimono/summer yukata and watch the

fireworks, as well as buy food from the many stalls lined up formiles. Some big festivals are:

    - Yodagawa fireworks festival

    - Tenjin Matsuri (festival)

http://hanabi.walkerplus.com/This website has all thedates and information about the festivals all across Japan, but

its only in Japanese, so when it gets close to July ask me to tell

    you they are on.
