Join Jennifer Ewing in the Artist Studio as she continues to explore the theme of spirit boats, a metaphor for her own journey in paintings, drawings, collages, sculptures, and installations. Visitors are encouraged to explore their own paths by making boats in the form of a drawing, collage or sculpture. A sense of identity can be found by creating a tribute to a person or family as a totem or symbol. Every month the museum invites artists to install and demonstrate their art form at the de Young. This interactive program enables visitors to meet artists and gives the artists an opportunity to work with the public. Artists working in various media are encouraged to apply.
