Welcome to Denver! The American Gelbvieh Association (AGA) is less than one month past one of the most ardent national conventions in the history of the association. The timing of that enthusiasm is perfect to carry momentum into 2018.

Cattle breeders from all over the world will have the opportunity to share in the AGA excitement at the National Western Stock Show (NWSS), which serves as the first big event of each calendar year.

The momentum that the AGA and our membership is enjoying over the last three years, comes in the form of increased cowherd inventory, increased registrations and more bulls transferred to Gelbvieh and Balancer bull buyers from around the country. The building of Gelbvieh-influenced mass has resulted in a substantial increase in the AGA membership of nearly 10% since last year.

I encourage all Gelbvieh and Balancer breeders and customers to join in the excitement that is taking place at the AGA. The association is preparing for another year of substantial growth and we hope you will all come and be a part of it, beginning at the 2018 National Western Stock Show.

Dobson Ranch is one of the oldest continuous Gelbvieh breeding herds in North America. The program has become one of the most recognized sources of excellent breeding stock for the purebred and commercial producers, as well as countless competitive individuals that have proven successful in the show ring. The best proven genetics available are embedded into the breeding herd, and past individuals have become common names within the industry. This lot is a special addition to the National Sale, and it has never been offered for sale. Several individuals from recent calf crops will be on display by the Dobson Ranch at the National Western Stock Show.

Embryo Offering 8 embryos are on hand from each mating, and the buyer may mix and match to suit the buyer’s needs for up to a total of eight embryos.

Selling a total of eight conventional grade #1 and #2 embryos with a guarantee of four pregnancies. The embryos must be implanted by a certified embryologist.If less than four pregnancies are achieved, the guarantee is one replacement embryo per pregnancy that does not take. When the embryo is replaced,

the guarantee is fulfilled. The replacement embryo, if necessary, will be from the current 294Z8 embryo bank and is not necessarily from the embryos offered. Pregnant recipients, if the buyer chooses, are available for purchase at Sun Valley at the current rate of $2,400 for a 90 day pregnancy. Recips must be picked within 10 days of determination or normal housing, and yardage charges are incurred to the buyer.

STEVE AND ADAM SINDT own and operate R&J Farms where they run a commercial cow-calf herd in south-central Nebraska, and feed out their home-raised calves. They started buying Gelbvieh and Balancer® bulls five years ago to improve the performance of their calves out of their British-based cowherd.
