GIRL SCOUT VOLUNTEERS ARE AMAZING!!! Girl Scouting would not exist without dedicated adults to help guide and mentor girls as they develop into our leaders of tomorrow. Recognizing adults in the movement is a way to acknowledge the service provided and to share the dedication, creativity, and exceptional performance. Recognition can be informal or formal; it can recognize direct service to girls, direct service to leaders, or indirect (behind-the-scenes) support. Recognition can range from a simple expression of appreciation to awards that are nationally recognized using a formal review process. The 2019-2020 Adult Recognitions Guide Book is available on the www.gshg.org website with a training too. Deadline to turn in Adult Recognition nominations is February 10, 2020. Training Opportunities: CPR/First Aid training for volunteers on January 8, 2020 in Savannah, Georgia. The cost will be $35. Know Before You Go - Important Forms for Travel Field trips (Daisies and older) A walk to the nearby garden, or a short ride by car or public transportation to the firehouse or courthouse is a great first step. What you’ll need:

1. Fill out an EZ Troop Trip Application online or use our paper form 2 weeks prior 2. Girl Health History and Permission Slip for each girl attending 3. Adult Health History for each Adult attending

All day trip (Daisies and older) An all-day visit to a point of historical or natural interest (bringing their own lunch) or a day-long trip to a nearby city (stopping at a restaurant for ameal)—younger girls can select locations and do much of the trip-planning while never beingtoo far from home. What you’ll need:

1. Fill out an EZ Troop Trip Application online or use our paper form 2 weeks prior 2. Girl Health History and Permission Slip for each girl attending 3. Adult Health History for each Adult attending

Overnight trips (Daisies and older) One (or possibly two) nights away to a state or national park, historic city, or nearby city for sightseeing, staying in a hotel, motel, or campground. 1. Fill out an EZ Troop Trip Application online or use our paper form 2 weeks prior 2. Girl Health History and Permission Slip for each girl attending 3. Adult Health History for each Adult attending

Extended overnight trips (Juniors and older) Three or four nights camping or a stay in a hotel, motel, or hostel within the girls’ home region (for example, within our state or a bordering state). National trips (Cadettes and older) Travel anywhere in the country, often lasting a week or more. 1. Fill out an Troop Trip Application online or use our paper form 4 weeks prior 2. Girl Health History and Permission Slip for each girl attending 3. Adult Health History for each Adult attending 4. Supplemental Insurance Form
