Retro Rockets
Jan. 14 • 7:00 pm • Aud • $12
The Retro Rockets are a classic rock & roll
band. Their arrangements include the beautiful
multi-part vocal harmonies and instrumenta-
tion that make music from the late fifties
through the mid seventies so special!
We can’t wait to hear them again! There's no
better band for dancing or listening to in the
Southwest.
The Ok Chorale
Jan. 28 • 7:00 pm • Aud • $10
The OK Chorale is a cowboy trio dedicated to the
preservation of the Old West in stories and songs.
The OK Chorale’s approach to Arizona’s history is
truly unique. Come and travel back to the Arizona
of the late 1800’s with timeless music and authen-
tic wardrobes. Learn about the characters and
events that made this a legendary time in Ameri-
can history. You’ll hear songs by great artists like
Marty Robbins, Gene Autry, Rex Allen, Sons of
the Pioneers and many more.
Formed in 2001, they have been entertaining au-
diences throughout Arizona and California with
their great harmony and fascinating storytelling.

I’m OK
Here at RCE we want to make sure you are A-OK!
The “I’m Okay Club” is a program for guests and
residents who are living alone.
Once you sign up with the Activity Office, you
must call in daily before 10:00 am. This is just a
daily check-in by phone that allows us to make
sure you are OK. If you don’t call in by 10:00 am,
we will try and reach you. If we are unsuccessful,
we will come to your house and check on you.
Please stop by the Activity Office to sign up. We
look forward to seeing you.
Speed Limit
Keep us speed bump free! Please
observe the 10-mph speed limit
inside the park.
AED Device & 911 Phone
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
device and 911 Emergency phone are located in
the Breezeway near the office.
Safety from Wildlife
The weather is cooling and this is a time when
rattlesnakes might seek the warmth of a cozy
asphalt street after sundown. Although the
perimeter of RCE is fenced to keep animals out,
we do occasionally receive an “uninvited guest.”
For maximum safety, carry a flashlight if you are
walking after dark, keep pets on a leash, and re-
main alert to an unlikely, but
possible encounter.
Safety First!
A Word from George
From our family to yours, we hope your Christ-
mas and New Years were filled with family,
food, and fond memories. It's been a busy sea-
son here at Rincon Country RV Resort, and it's
only started. I just want to take a moment to
thank you all for making Rincon Country RV
Resort what it is today. While we are always
hard at work, we know without a doubt that
we do this work for you! Year after year, it
warms our hearts to know that we are able to
provide a community filled with so many fun,
talented, and fascinating people. You are the
lifeblood of the park, and the reason we enjoy
coming to work everyday. Whether its one of
our many volunteers, our park ambassadors,
or one of the many people that just make eve-
ryone else feel welcomed, we truly appreciate
all you do. We know without a doubt the park
could not function the same without your sup-
port. Because of all of this, we will promise to
continue to make this the best community it
can be, and continue striving for standards of
excellence that makes our community stand
apart from the rest.
Thank you,
George O’Leary

I’m back!!! I would like to thank everyone for the get-well cards, flowers, sweet words and tons of patience. I would also like to thank my wonderful volunteers who have been doing double time all month! I would also like to thank Joyce for holding it all together in my absence. We couldn’t have done it without them! Thank you!
I’m tired of recovering. I want to dance. We have started off the with New Year with Triplicity, dancing and shaking our cans! We get to kick off our shoes again in two weeks welcoming back the Retro Rock-ets. We all know how much fun it is to dance to their music making.
Rumor has it we have only three dances this year. Boy, that’s awful. What was I thinking? Oh, wait a sec-ond – I was thinking, quite clearly. First of all, we danced on Halloween and then we had the Happy Hour in November, followed by Triplicity in December, but we are just getting started. We are excited about the return of the Retro Rockets followed by the Cochise County AllStars, again leading us in another Hap-py Hour this month. In February, we get rocked by the band on the 15th for the Annual Appreciation Pic-nic and I have a great band coming for Mardi Gras - I’m really looking forward to this group - Rhonda-Vous. They have a classic sound and the lead singers voice is dynamic. St. Patrick’s day will be celebrated with the Sixties Garage Band and more. I left out a few but you’ll just have to wait and see. We will be rocking! I guarantee it!
So get your dancing boots on, don that cowboy hat and shake that thang right into the Activity Office to buy your tickets now!

eastern Arizona that boasts world-class fea-
tures. This “live” cave, discovered in 1974, is

ant stalagmites reaching up from the ground.
Tour guides will unveil this fascinating under-
ground landscape during a memorable 1½ hour
tour.
The Discovery Center features museums exhib-
its, a large gift shop, regional displays, theater,
and educational information about the caverns
and the surrounding landscape. There are also
campgrounds, hiking trails, lockers, shaded pic-
nic areas, a deli, an amphitheater, and a hum-

Join your guide Joe Adams on a history tour of
Tucson. Joe is a docent at San Xavier del Bac and
has been giving tours in Southern Arizona,
Mexico and Peru. He will take you to the very
spot where the city of Tucson originated. You will
see where the Spanish Presidio once stood and
hear stories about their soldiers defending the
valley from Apaches.
Visit the campus of the University of Arizona; un-
likely to have been constructed if it was not for a
gift from a strange benefactor. Joe will spin tales
of Tucson's famous bad guys such as Pancho Villa
and John Dillinger. Learn how Tucson's famous
night sky and public art helped the city become a
leader in ordinances. If time allows, there will be
a brief stop at the only Spanish Baroque Mission
Church in the United States. Don't miss out!

Tombstone. That name means many things to
many people. It creates images of gunfights
and dusty streets, whiskey, and a plethora of
old western movie scenes. But what many folks
don't realize is that Tombstone is a living town
with real inhabitants who have lived here
throughout its history and still do today. That is
part of the reason Tombstone has been called
The Town Too Tough to Die.
Walk the very same streets here in Tombstone
that Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, Johnny Ringo,
Ike Clanton and a host of other Western Leg-
ends walked over 130 years ago. You can just
feel the history here! This is the most authentic
Western Town left in the United States!

Winter Break
February 27 - March 1, 2017
Flirt with lady luck and rock ‘n roll at the Tropicana Laughlin for winter break 2017: The Next Generation offering non-stop fun and excitement!
At a recent entertainment expo, I had the opportunity to see some amazing talent. The one that stood out as the best of the best was a group called December 63, a tribute to the original Jersey Boys. Some of you may remember Teen Idol, the biggest and most remarked upon event of 2015-2016 at Rincon. This is the same management company. They produce the top quality performances.
When you go to Laughlin, you get to see not one, but two of these shows included in the price.. This year’s Laughlin trip includes December 63 and one of my favorite tributes, ABBA! You cannot miss this trip. Unfortunately, I will not be there, but I think you will survive and I think you will have the TIME OF YOUR LIFE! On top of these fabulous concerts, you can do the disco line dance and/or swing dance les-sons, attend an educational seminar, go to a singles mingle, get fit in a Fun & Fitness class or a guided fitness walk and see other live shows. That’s all included! If you want some more fun at additional ex-pense, feel free to sign up with Spirit for kayaking, golf, horse-back riding or a day tour to historic Oat-man, AZ. And to answer the question everyone is asking, “Yes! They pick us up at the Rincon gate.” We just need 30 people to go and can only take 50, so sign up now before you lose your seat!

Brown Bag Forum
We pretty much like each other at RCE, and it's
fair to say that every person staying in the Park
has had a life with experiences that would be
considered interesting, amusing, and in some
way instructive by everyone else. The Brown
Bag Forum simply capitalizes on that fact. The
Brown Bag Forum is an informal come-as-you-
are event held every other Tuesday from noon
to 1:00 pm in the Rec. Hall, featuring the inter-
ests and experiences of Park resi-
dents. Everyone is invited to bring lunch to en-
joy while listening to the speaker(s), and to ask
pertinent questions.
This January we begin our third season. The first
speaker of this season will be John Board, who
will talk, at noon on Tues., Jan. 3, about a very
important and controversial historical figure,
"Jeannette Rankin, the First Woman in Con-
gress." Rankin was a very high-principled and
remarkable woman, and this talk should be both
interesting and provocative!
The second speaker of the season will be M. Jo
Foulston, a very accomplished artist, who will
discuss "Gardens, Stones, and Wildlife: My Life-
long Obsession with Nature." Her talk will be on
Tuesday, Jan. 17, also at noon, and she will prob-
ably bring along as illustrations some of her very
remarkable art works.
The third speaker will be Fred McCormick, who
will discuss "My Work as an Educator in Wiscon-
sin" on Tuesday, January 31, at noon. Fred would
like to give his talk in the Auditorium, so look
there first to see if the place is set up for a talk; if
not, the talk will be in the Rec. Hall, like the oth-
ers.
Bocce

A fun time was had by all in the Bocce Fun
League the last month. We want to thank Rick &
Kris Pierce for heading that up.
We also had another successful spaghetti dinner
thanks to Dave Hartman and all the many volun-
teers as well as all who attended.
We would like to thank George and Sandra for

the bocce courts.

Rincon Country Gentlemen
Our men’s chorus here at Rincon Country is
called the Country Gentlemen and we have
been performing for over 30 years. We’re al-
ways looking to add new members; a great
singing voice isn’t needed, just the ability to
carry a tune. If one can read music, that is
helpful but not essential.
We are not barbershop; we do sing 4-part har-
mony, but with accompaniment. We will start
our practices January 9th, on Mondays from
12:15 to 2:00 pm in the Auditorium. You’ll find
it is easy to learn your part by listening to the
other singers. No audition is required, just
your interest.
We’ve scheduled about eight singing perfor-
mances from late January through mid March,
and have a farewell luncheon near the middle
of March.
Some of us have been singing with the group
for well over 20 years and we’d love to have
some of you other long-time resident and
guests males who sing join us. We also wel-
come newer residents to check us out.
For more information, encouragement and
comment please call one of us: George Koss
