25 TIPS FOR A MORE GROUNDED, GODLY LIFE IN THE NEW YEAR

Do not give in to anger over the past or fear of the future. Don’t look backwards or forwards. Enjoy the

present.

Don’ waste your energy on grudges, gossip, and negative thoughts. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

Forgive everyone for everything.

Envy is also a waste of time. God will provide what yu need

Enjoy the simple things.

Surround yourself with what you love – family, pets, keepsakes, music, books, plants, hobbies, sports.

Keep learning and keep active. Learn hobbies, crafts, gardening, photography the computer. An idle mind is the

devil’s workshop.”

Cherish your health. If it is god, preserve it. If it is unstable work to improve it.

Remember; prevention is also a life issue.

Take a 30 minute walk every day and while you walk, smile. It’s the ultimate antidepressant. God made the body

to be used. Use it.

Be enthusiastic about all that you do, even menial work.

Listen to your Mom. Eat more natural foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less processed foods. Include

lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet.

Everything in moderation.

Use medications discreetly and only those prescribed by a competent doctor.

Take a short siesta after lunch. Do not deprive yourself of sleep.

Sit in prayerful silence for at least 15 minutes every day.

Play more games and read more funny books.

Don’t take quilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to another city, even to a foreign country, but not to where the guilt

is.

Don’t take yourself so seriously. Cultivate a sense of humor. Laugh a lot.

Try to make a least two people smile or laugh each day.

Get rid of the clutter n your life and anything that isn’t useful, beautiful, or joyful.

Tell the people you love that you love them at every opportunity.

Focus less on yourself and more on how you can be of service to others.

Count your blessings and be thankful.

Try to live peaceably with your family, your neighbors, and the people in your workplace.

Above all, place the Lord in the center of your life. Give glory to Him joyfully and faithfully each day.

“Grow in Faith”

Christian Education Information and Activities We celebrate the children who gather to learn about Jesus and his love. They are taught by the adults who graciously give of their time. Here are a few highlights from December. The Sunday School Christmas Program during worship, a time of joy as the children present their songs and recitations and share the story of the birth of Baby Jesus.

The Sunday School Mission project for December was a time for the children to make Christingles. They were able to take these home and share with their parents. Some church members who were in worship, as well as some who have not been able to attend worship also received one.

Sunday School will resume classes on Jan. 8, 2017. The Mission Sunday is Jan 29th and we will be making personal care packages for those people in need. Join us! Sunday School will resume classes on Jan, 8, 2017. The Mission Sunday is Jan 29th and we will

Brother Rex

Treasurer’s Report As we leave the Christmas season the church year concludes from a budgeting and financing perspective. Brothers John and Tom have provided a complete audit report of our finances over the first ten months of the year to the Trustees. They found the finances are in order and provided some internal control suggestions which are largely being implemented. While it is too early to project the annual fiscal result, though November the current envelop support is $3k behind budget; the Provincial Causes envelopes are over $1k behind budget while the Benevolence and Improvement envelop support is close to budgeted levels. We have Investment Gains of over $15k which are not budgeted but help bring total revenue in align with budgeted. Expenses are largely at or close to budget with a few exceptions. The Annual Report is now being assembled for our upcoming February Church Council; a full accounting will be provided then. BR
