Abominable Snowmen: legend Come to Life

by IVAN T. SANDERSON F.L.S., F.R.G.S., F.Z.S.

The Story of Sub-Humans on Five Continents from the Early Ice Age

Until Today

Illustrated $7.50

Do "Abom·mable Snowmen" exist'! Prepare yourself for a' shock. In the opinion of one of the world's leading natu_ralists, not one, but possibly four kinds, still walk the earth! Do they really live on the fringes of the towering Himalayas and the etlge of myth-haunted Tibet?· They do, but we are far more likely to catch one in the United Stutes! Northern California and its almost impenetrable Klamath Forests may hide the astonishing answer. From how many areas in the world have factual reports of wild, strange, hairy men emanated? Every colllinent, except Australia and the Antarctic!

Now at last, Ivan Sanderson. who has been accumulating material for 30 years on this subject, explains in language as plain and clear as a news flash just why no "Snowman" has ever been captured and kept for a zoo or a museum (one wu1 caught during the last century, in Canada).

Has Sir Edmund Hillary said the last word, when he recently denied the existence of the creature he formerly strongly believed in? The whole story of his latest trip to the Himalayas is given to the public within this book.

What has Established Science had to say on the status of the "Snowman"? Why have the scientists played down the story? Why is the press so confused? The author explains the confusion of both, some of it deliberate.

4

Learn, for what may be the first time, the true story of the continents, and above all, the vegetation which covers them. Learn why many areas thought to be well known are less known today than a hundred years ago. Learn why maps are so deceptive, and frequently entirely useless. Learn what the American Indian knows about this problem and why, until very recently, he ··wouldn't talk."

This is a book for those who want to discover the truth. The author, uniquely fitted by both intensive scientific training· and his superb writing ability, tells this astonishing story and breaks down the barriers of Time and Space, showing in a bright light both how and why Mother Earth still clings to her ancient· mysteries, and that the Age of Discovery has never really ended.

IVAN TERENCE SANDERSON, the author of Abominable Snow me. is a world-flhmous zoologist and writer. Animal Treasure, Follow the Whale, and Animal Tales form only a part of his repertoire. He has also published exhaustively in scientific journals. under the auspices of the British Museum, the Chicago Museum of Natural History (formerly the field Museum) and others. He holds degrees with honors from Cambridge University, England. in botany. zoology, and geology, and he has also read in (formally studied) an;!tomy and physical anthropology at the same institution.

Starting in the 1920's, Mr. Sanderson has led scientific collecting trips to such remote places as Nigeria, Guatemala, Malaya, and Dutch Guiana, all supported and backed by scientific institutions, such as the Percy Sladen Foundation of the British Museum. He has had his own TV show. The author and his wife (who collaborates on research and writing) currently divide their time between a farm in New Jersey and a New York apartment.

planet were sent to the Earth to help nasct'nt humanity a.nd are known to occult scientists as the ' Lords of Venus ' and the ' Lords of Mercury. '

' ' The Lords of Venus were the. leaders of the m..as:;es of our people. Th«-'y were inferior beings of the Venus evolution, who appeared among men and were known as ' Messengers of the gods. ' For the good of our humanity thl:'y led and guided them step by step. There was no rebellion against their authority, because ma.n had not yet evolved an independent will. It was to bring him to the stage where he would be able to manifest will and judgment that they guided him, until he should be able to guide himself.

' ' When under the tuition of these Bein mankind had reached a (,"ertaih etage of progress, the most advanced were placed under the guidance of the Lords of Mercury, who initiated them into the higher truths for the purpose of making them leaders of the people. 'fhese Initiates were then exalted to kingship and were the founders of the dynasties of Divine Rulers who were indeed kings ' by the grace of God, ' i.e., by the grace of the Lords of Venus and lercury, who were as gods to infant humanity. They guided and instructed the kings for the good of the people and 1 10t for self-aggrandizement and arrogation of rights at their expense.

' ' At tha.t time a ruler held a sacred trust to educate and help his people ; to alleviate and promote equity and well-being. He had the light of God to give him wisdom and guid his judgment. Hence, while those kings reigned, all things prospered, and it was indeed a Golden Age. Yet, as we follow the evolution of man in detail, we shall see that the present phase or period of development, though it cannot be called a golden age in any but a material &ense, is nevertheless a neC€SSary one,

· in order to bring man to the point where he will be able to rule himself, for self-mastery is the end and aim of

all rulership. No man can safely remain ungoverened who has not learned to govern himself, and at the present st.a.ge of development, that is tLe hardest task that <>an be given him. It h; easy to command others ; it is hard to force obedience from onlf. ' '

It is also taught in Vol. 2 of Questioru and Answers that : " There are I'Ome E gos who do not evolve, hut are stragglers upon the path of evolution. For them there comes a time when they are fina1ly ejected to the Moon and are denied the opportunity and privilege of rebirth in the present evolutionary class. They then remain upon the Moon until the vehicles they h81Ve crystallized by lack of action are finally dissolved, and as they cannot go forward with the stream of evolution, there is only one other way open to them : to gravitate back through the gate of Saturn into Ch810S, or Cosmic Night, where they must await another oppotunity of manifestation in a later life stream.

' ' Ordinary humanity who follow the path of evolution are led to the KingdQm of Christ, the Sun Spirit. Stragglers who fail to keep up with the procession retrograde to the Kingdom of Jehovah, the Moon Spirit.

' ' The advanced guard of humanity, the Initiates who have passed both the lesser and greater Initiations . . . . are given the choice of staying here and helping their brothers in this world or of goilng ·to Jupiter and preparing the conditions under which humanity may evolv-e in the future Jupiter Period.

' ' Advanced souls who misuse th eir powers as black magicians eventually retrograde directly to Saturn and are forced into Chaos by dissolution of their vehicles. Se.turn has a preponderance of the fourth or reflecting ether. Hence its pale light, and the E gos who go there leave a record of their lives and are then propelled outward toward Chaos by way of Saturn 's moons.

I cou l d not believe God was s o m erc ifu l to touch a s inner l ik e me ; yet m y pa ral yzed 29 arm was healed ins tantl y, and hate was taken out of me . I was l ifted right out of

30 G rou p of Seattl e, Wash ington, until . . . . . . . . My U . F . 0 . mystery was re -vealed three years l ate r on September 15 , 1962 at a crusade in Pvrtland, Oregon . We were all asked to concentrate on God for our greatest needs . I didn ' t get my greatest needs but I did get my greatest answe r ; when for some unknown reason l looked up a nd s il ently said, "Oh God, who art Thou ?" Then s uddenly my entire left arm which had been healed felt l ike a sparkl ing electric contact; yet wonder ful ; and then I suddenly heard these words, " How did you l ike you r answe r ? " This took m e by s urprise . I didn't intend t o a s k that question, "Oh God, who a r t Thou?" Th is didn't make sense . Suddenly I k new God changed m y question and then answered it by us ing my l eft arm, and then asked me (perhaps through some one near by) "How did you l ik e you r answe r?", because then I remem be red (three years back) the U . F . 0 . experience of September 27, 1959 when my left arm was heal ed by a m i racl e . God 's answer was fool -proof! Three things took pl ace h e re yet some say this is mass hypnosis, and some say U . F . 0 . s are of the devil .

When I was a Cathol ic I heard all Protestants are going to hell . When I became Protestant I hea rd all Cathol ics are going to hel l . I once fel t all Protestants were under one head (or a united group) l ike the Catholics until I sent my first tt:s timony to more than one hund red chu rc hes . I now find ridicule and criticism a blessing in disguise . At p resent I 'm what some call a chu rch tram p .

I won't l is t all of my phenom ena but 1 welcome any comment . I had dreams witJ1 visions about Jesus that made this revised eition a must . Also an u nexpl ained beam of l ight; a :sudden appearance of a telephone receiver which said just th ree wo rds , " A re you ready ?" and the thoughts , "God, Venu: and Mar " came to my m ind . I felt th is was a warn i ng and that the explanation of this woul u be reveal ed if my m ind, hea rt and soul we re cleansed and ready for it . So I accepted an in

vitation to a s m all Pentecostal church . As I said, my mother wa s Cathol ic and my father was Lutheran . I was noth i ng . A m edical docto r who was a Baptis t happened to be s peak ing a t th is chu rch and the way this doctor s poke s urprised me so . I once had a dis l ik e for al l MD's bu t he m ade the Bible and sal vation so simple it gave me a real peace of mind for the first time in m y life . (I was born and raised a Catholic until I l eft home, and now I love any chu rch where the peopl e therein truly l ove and glorify God th rough Jesus Christ our s aviour, with all thei r hearts , minds and soul s . ) The first thing t p e next morning whil e i n t h e k itchen alone I seemed to see and feel heat waves entering my body . I seemed to be fil l ed with something great and powerful . I k new my very worst habits and desires were gone forever . I became a changed person . I s ta rted to read and enjoy the Bi.bl e fo r the first time in my l ife .
