    Weekly Events Calendar

    Every man must decide

whether he will walk in the

    light of creative altruism or

    in the darkness of

    destructive selfishness.

    ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

There is room in the Honors section of Writing

201 in which Valerie Hemingway, who served as

Ernest Hemingway's last assistant, will co-teach.

She will help us to explore some of Hemingway's

writings: The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms,

and selected short stories. While Hemingway willprovide the content focus of the course, there will

be lots of options for doing one's research paper.

Valerie provides a personal glimpse at historical

happenings that continue to affect us, for

example, the Cuban Revolution and Fidel Castro's

    visit to Hemingway.
