January 08 th, /A/2, Danawkanda, Weliveriya (SL) (CAD) H APPY A GED E LDERS H OME A group of individuals in the tea industry who migrated to Canada wanted to do a meaningful thing for the elders in Sri Lanka. The group saw how the elderly people in Canada enjoyed their lives in different ways. They felt that they should build a house for innocent elderly people in Sri Lanka. Initially the plan was to build something small. While resting after the 10 km run in Vancouver, Canada one of the members discussed the idea with others who are involved in charitable projects and the current project turned out to be big and promising. Involving professional friends in Sri Lanka, led to the Happy Aged Elders Home project. 2 How The Project Started H APPY A GED E LDERS H OME On August 20th 2013, the foundation stone was laid by the founding group of individuals from both Canada and Sri Lanka.
