DOUG BEARDSLEY (Assistant Choreographer, Steward) and his wife Jill,

moved here from the Rockford, IL area 2 1/2 years ago where they were performers

and choreographers in the professional and community theaters. As former mem-

bers of the World Championship BYU Ballroom Dance Company, they continue to

perform and teach. Favorite theater roles include Benjamin in 7 Brides for 7 Broth-

ers, Audrey II (puppeteer) in Little Shop of Horrors, and Will Parker in Oklahoma.

His favorite dance role was the Arabian in The Nutcracker. He is the proud father

of 4 Eagle Scouts. His favorite title; “Grandpa” to Miriam, Victoria and Landon.

By day Doug is the Director of the Johnson County Health Department. This is

Doug’s second performance with the ICCT.

JILL BEARDSLEY (Choreographer, Costumer) began dancing at age 11 with the

prestigious Diemann/Bennett studios in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she trained in

ballet and other forms of dance. She attended Brigham Young University and

studied Ballroom and Latin dance styles and performed with the world-renowned

BYU Ballroom Dance Company where she met future husband, Doug. Jill moved

here from the Rockford, IL area where her skills as a choreographer, dancer and

performer were in much demand. Favorite performances include Joseph, Guys and

Dolls, 7 Brides, and Kismet. Choreography credits include Seussical, Tommy, The

Wiz, Footloose, The King and I, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady and many others. Jill is

mother to four good looking boys, mother-in-law to three and grandma to Miriam,

Victoria and Landon. “It’s good to be back home.”

ELIZABETH BREED (Trix) has a BFA in Theatre Arts from Nebraska Wesleyan

University. She was in 4 shows with ICCT this season, including "Rosencrantz and

Guildenstern", "Cinderella", and "The Nerd". She is now working on writing an

original play called "The Golden Boy", which she hopes will be produced this sum-

mer. Elizabeth is exhausted.

EMMA CONROY (Janet Van De Graaff) is making her ICCT debut and is posi-

tively ecstatic to be working with such an excellent group of people! She is a fresh-

man at Mount Vernon High School and a violin student at the Preucil School of

Music. Other productions include: Almost Maine (Ginette), The Jungle

Book (Mowgli), Annie (Tessie), Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (Dopey), as

well as chorus, tech and orchestra roles in many other productions. She would like

to thank her mom and dad for their support, her sister Lucy for enjoying it with her,

and Ben and Jill for this wonderful opportunity! "Enjoy the show!"

LUCY CONROY (Ensemble) is thrilled to be making her community theatre de-

but with ICCT! She takes cello lessons at the Preucil School of Music and is an 8th

grader at Mount Vernon Middle School. She would like to thank her parents for

their encouragement, her sister Emma for helping to make this experience all the

better, and Ben and Jill for including her in this show.

MEET THE CAST AND CREW (Continued)

KAITLYN DAVIDS (Ensemble) is excited to be in her 3rd ICCT show, having previ-

ously appeared in The Baker’s Wife and Camelot. She has also performed with Star-

lighters II, The Usher’s Ferry Theater Company, and ACE. When not on stage, she

enjoys working for the Iowa City School District and is training for her first

5k. She’d like to thank the wonderful cast and crew for making this such a great ex-

perience. And a big thanks to Eddie for all the encouragement and for sharing the

stage with her.

MEGAN DUQUETTE (Stage Manager) is a Production Assistant at KCRG and

WQAD. She was recently seen on stage as a wicked stepsister in ICCT's production

of Cinderella! Thanks to her assistant stage manager Carly for helping keep things on

track!

JESSICA FASELT (Trix) has delighted in playing the role of Kitty! She is an 18

year old Freshman Vocal Performance Major at the University of Iowa. Her passion

in life is singing. She auditioned two years for the Iowa All-State Chorus and was

accepted twice. She recently performed a Bach solo with the University Choir and

Chamber Orchestra. Other musicals she has been a part of are: Once Upon a Mattress,

The Boyfriend, Into the Woods, Wizard of Oz, Camelot, Wonderful Town, Annie, and

Cinderella! Jessica enjoys singing at Parkview Church in Iowa City. She hopes you

enjoy the show!

JEN GERBYSHAK (Gangster) briefly considered running away to join the circus,

but decided to join the theatre instead. Performing with ICCT, Dreamwell and ACE

Experiment, she has been a medieval sports fan, a shrill battleaxe, a lovelorn Bedouin,

a moonstruck countess, a witty fool, a cross-dressing castaway, a formidable house-

keeper, and Queen for a day. Jen is therefore pleased as punch to play an immigrant

pretending to be a gangster posing as a pastry chef in The Drowsy Chaperone!

MARY HARRIS (Ensemble) is very excited to be a part of The Drowsy Chaper-

one. It is her first official role with ICCT. She joined Cinderella’s ensemble for the

last week. This has been a wonderful experience and she has enjoyed working with

the cast. She has been in many plays at Regina High School, where she is a jun-

ior. She recently played Mae Peterson, in Bye Bye Birdie. She also performed for the

Washington Community Theater. She’s in Choir, band and Jazz Band at Regi-

na. Mary wishes to thank Ben, for this opportunity and her family and boyfriend Mi-

chael, for their support.

EOGHAN HARTLEY (Emsemble) is very proud to be a part of ICCT’s The Drowsy

Chaperone. He is 16 years old and he is a Junior at Regina High School. He was most

recently played as Hugo Peabody in Regina’s Bye Bye Birdie and as a chorus member

in ICCT’s Cinderella. He would like to thank his director, teacher, and mentor, Ben

Bentler, for all his hard work and for getting Eoghan involved in Iowa City Commu-

nity Theatre.

CARLY HUFFMAN (Assistant Stage Manager) is a senior at the University of Iowa.

This is her first production with Icct and she wants to thank her parents, and her boy-

friend for their support and Megan Duquette for teaching her everything!

MEET THE CAST AND CREW (Continued)

CJ JONES (Robert Martin) is originally from Iowa City and has always loved mu-

sic and performing. Other roles include Seymour Krelborn (Little Shop of Hor-

rors), Albert Peterson (Bye Bye Birdie), John (John and Jen), and Ensemble

(School House Rock).

ROB KEECH (Aldolpho) is excited to be performing again after a short hia-

tus. His previous shows with ICCT include Camelot, My Fair Lady, and Fiddler

try and would like to thank his friends and family for their continuing support as he

tries to manage a crazy schedule… and his crazy hair.

degrees in voice and opera performance from U of I and Arizona State respective-

ly. Previously in the Iowa City area Robert has appeared as Frederic in Pirates of

Penzance, Martin in The Tender Land, Edward in The Marriage Contract, and

more. Previous musical theatre roles include Jack in Into the Woods, Pirelli

in Sweeney Todd, and William Barfee in Spelling Bee. He will next be seen in Ce-

dar Rapids Opera Theatre’s production of Candide this summer.

ADAM KOPFMAN (George) This is Adam's first show with ICCT. He was in the

City Circle production of Hello, Dolly! as Barnaby. Adam graduated from Mesa

state college in Grand Junction, Colorado with a degree in Theatre. Adam is the

owner of Tip Top Cakes in Coralville. He would like to thank you all for coming.

STEPHEN KRUTZFELDT (Ensemble) most recently appeared on the ICCT

stage in Cinderellla! He has this glow about him, an ambiance that comes from his

wonderful style, grace, and charisma. In this show, you will hear his glorious voice

filling the room with the sound which angels hope to attain. He seems to be the

glue that brings strangers together and the ingredient needed to make beautiful

friendships last ages. He feels so blessed to have had the chance to work with

someone so talented, so wonderful, and so humble. This cast would not have been

complete without Stephen Krutzfeldt.

ELINOR LEVIN (Ensemble) is loving her return to community theater after an

eight year hiatus. She has previously been seen in Into the Woods as Red Riding

Hood, Fiddler on the Roof as Chava, and Once on this Island as Narrator with

Caught in the Act Community Theater. When she's not performing, she can be

found substitute teaching. She wants to thank her lovely fellow maids for making

the downtime fun, and the butlers for always catching her when she falls.

MARY JANE MYERS (Drowsy) most recent appearance was in the performance

of Cinderella here at ICCT. This is her second production with ICCT and is de-

lighted to be involved with this hilarious show. Her favorite roles include an assas-

sin, an over bearing British mother, a German aristocrat who thinks she's a spy and

now a woman who adores a good vodka Gibson. She is delighted to be playing the

Drowsy Chaperone (Beatrice Stockwell) and thanks Ben for this awesome oppor-

tunity. Mary Jane raises a glass and toasts her family, her son and his girlfriend, her

friends old and new and thanks them for their love and support. Here! Here!

MEET THE CAST AND CREW (Continued)

ELISABETH ROSS (Tottendale) is a general music teacher in Coralville. She re-

cently appeared in ICCT's Cinderella and has appeared in many local productions.

DAVID RUDOLF (Ensemble) is excited about his first performance with ICCT! He

has been involved in theater ever since junior high at Regina, including principal roles

in Scapino! and Sound of Music. He has been involved with community theater for

only a year now, after a debut as Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man, Charlie

Brown. David is looking forward to performing in The Drowsy Chaperone, which is

definitely one of the funniest shows he has ever been in. Thank you to Ben, Megan,

Jill, and the cast for being so awesome and supportive!

EDDIE SKAGGS (Feldzeig) is happy to be making his second appearance at ICCT

this spring. He is an Assistant Professor of Communcation at Kirkwood CC who has

always enjoyed participating in theatre. Eddie has made numerous appearances on

area stages at TCR, Riverside, and Usher’s Ferry Theatre Co. He plans to continue

learning and growing with theatre along with his girlfriend Kait, who he met doing

theatre and who he's especially proud to share any stage with.

DUSTIN L SORRELL (Man in Chair) is a career theater professional starring in off-

Broadway musicals and tours, including Alex in Wonderland, as well as regional thea-

ter productions of The Laramie Project, Kiss Me Kate, The King and I, and more. He

has served as director of productions including Lil’ Abner and Hansel & Gretel, music

director of shows including The Jungle Book and Twelve Dancing Princesses, chore-

ographer of the award winning Oklahoma!, West Side Story and others. Over the past

decade, Dustin has also managed theater offices, provided theater instruction, coordi-

nated interns, and served as Director of Programming.

ANGELIQUE VANDORPE (Gangster) is excited to be back on the ICCT stage for

the millionth time! When she's not on the stage she's most likely to be seen being a

techie or a backstage helping hand. If she manages to find time outside of theatre she

works for the Department of Natural Resources in the day, and the Press Citizen at

night. During those rare free times, she enjoys sleeping, napping, snoozing, resting,

and dozing off. She would like to thank her whole cast for putting up with her shenan-

igans and Ben for giving her the opportunity to brush up on her manliness.

JILL VANDORPE (Ensemble) has appeared in many ICCT productions, most re-

cently in South Pacific and My Fair Lady. Active area theaters and opera, she recent-

ly performed in A View from the Bridge (Dreamwell) and Twelfth Night (ACE). When

offstage, Jill enjoys dancing, Renaissance fairs, raising dogs, and teaching accordion.

KENNETH VAN EGDON (Hair & Make-up Design) was saddened he wasn't able

to accept a spot on stage for this production, but glad to showcase how he spends his

time outside of theatre, minute though that time is, by designing the hairstyles and

hand crafting the wigs used in this production. "Thank you Ben and the cast for know-

ing that even if you don't see me for weeks at a time, I'm always there for you."

DYLAN WHEELER (Lighting Design) is a student at Kirkwood and works at River-

side Casino. He enjoys playing music, acting, and pondering irrelevant philosophical

questions like what he would do with free time.

MEET THE CAST AND CREW (Continued)

BEN BENTLER

With a start in Musical Theatre music as a child, Ben, has worked

onstage dozens of times around the state and the country. With 13 years of

performances as a vocalist, music director, composer, producer, director

and pianist he has found acclaim from a wide variety of audiences.

Ben found early support from his parents and community theatre,

and took his first piano lesson from the Marie Reed. During High School

he gained courage and support from his voice teacher Diane Mahoney. In

college he gained a fantastic amount of knowledge from his role model Dr.

Timothy Statler.

During college and after he has worked as musical direc-

tor/conductor for dozens of shows, including Chicago’s Porchlight Music

Theatre, It’s a Wonderful Life, Ragtime, and Phantom of the Opera. He has

also written, arranged, and orchestrated extensively for the theater using the

score to create a seamless transition from music to dialogue. Also he has

directed several shows including Thoroughly Modern Millie and A Year

with Frog and Toad. Ben hopes to continue his education and career by

attending grad school as a director.

Ben also has worked as a vocal instructor and piano instructor to

nearly eighty students over the course of six years and works hard to inspire

and create a love for the art in everyone he teaches. He places special im-

portance on the integrity of the music, vocal and instrumental expression, as

well as concepts and practices of good vocal health.

He says, “I’d like to thank Don Hughes, Mary Mahoney, Ron Mirr,

and Suzanne Smith for the amazing support and the continued trust in the

shows I do. I don’t know what I’d do without you guys. You make me feel

like I really belong and you are such a fun and loving group. I love you

guys. I’d also like to thank Tyler Cochran for his ability to continue to keep

me laughing and feelings. Also a quick thank you to my phenomenal par-

ents. Without you, I wouldn’t have had the insane amount of opportunity,

luck, and love I’ve grown to know and appreciate. I love you.”
