The Janáček Trio consists of three outstanding soloists who have to their credit many performances in the Czech Republic and abroad, competition victories, recordings and collaborations with other important musicians and orchestras. The ensemble was founded in 2001 and since 2005 has been using Leoš Janáček´s name with the permission ofthe Leoš Janáček Foundation. The trio´s repertoire ranges from the baroque era to modern music of the 21st century. Czech composers form a considerable part of their programme. The ensemble also performs premieres of works by the contemporary Czech composers Jiří Gemrot, Ivo Bláha and Milan Slavický.
