Essay Competition -2015The Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages invites entries from

students of Universities, Colleges and Schools of Jammu and Kashmir for EssayCompetition in Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojri, Pahari, Punjabi, Balti, Shina, Ladakhi besidesUrdu, Hindi and English on the topics given below:

~ Topic for University students: My Heritage: Focusing on 'Fair andFestivals'. The competitor shall write on one Fair or Festival celebrated inhis/her native village/town /area/ region. The prize money for University levelcompetition will be; First prize Rs. 25,000/-; Second prize Rs. 15,000/-; Thirdprize Rs. 10,000/- and 3 Consolation prizes Rs. 7000j- each.

~ Topic for College level students:- My Heritage:- focusing on 'Cultural andHistorical Sites' which may be ; a Palace/Fort/Heritage Building/HistoricGarden/Cave/Site designated and protected by Archeological Survey of India orany other site of ethno Cultural significance. The competitor shall write on a sitenearest to his/her native village/town /area/ region . The prize money forcollege level competition will be; First prize Rs. 15,000/-; Second prize Rs.JO,OOO/-,Third prize; Rs. 7000/- and 3 Consolation prizes Rs. 5000/- each.

~ Topic for Secondary School level (9th to 12th Class) Students:- MyHeritage» focusing on a 'Social/Folk Hero', which may be- a Writer /Artist/Artisan or any other personality of ethno- cultural significance. Thecompetitor shall write on a person of his/her native village/town /area/ region.The prize money for school level competition will be; First prize Rs.I0, 000 /-;Second prize Rs. 7000/-; Third prizes Rs. 5000/- and 3 Consolation prizes Rs.3000/- each.

The essay shall be neatly written or typed on one side of A-4 size paper comprisingof 3000 (three thousand) words only, in anyone of the above mentioned language.The front page of each entry shall be used only to write name of the competitor,Institution with Postal address and mobile no and attach a Passport size Photographof the student.

The entries shall be recommended by Head of the Institution where the studentenrolled and the head shall certify that the Essay is original work of the Student and.shall reach by or before 28th of February 2016 on following address :-
