An Industry Leader Since 1956In the early 1950s, Jameson began as a partnership between two manufacturers’ representatives: James C. Crates and W.G. Pearson. By 1956 they were calling on rural electric (REA), telephone and power utility customers. That same year the company started an assembly operation to introduce the first fiberglass hot sticks, pruner poles and lay-up sticks used by utilities across the United States.

After the passing of Mr. Pearson in 1960, Mr. Crates’ son, James M. Crates, joined the business in 1961 and the name Jameson was coined.

During the 1960s the Charlotte plant manufactured silicone filled splice sleeves used in twist and solder splicing. Many of these sleeves and Peco splice closures were used by the Army C Com in Vietnam. Jameson expanded the fiberglass pole line and gained a foothold in the CATV and line clearance markets in the 1970s.

In 1980 Jameson designed and introduced the first continu-ous fiberglass conduit rodder manufactured in the U.S. The Big Buddy® launched what has become the largest and most complete line of rodders and fish tapes in the industry today: The Buddy® System.

Jameson began manufacturing portable fluorescent drop lights in the late 1980s. Using the new twin lamp technology, they introduced a light that offered greater light output and a more durable bulb. With the addition of several patents over the last 20 years, the product line has continued to evolve into the comprehensive array of state-of-the-art products that Jameson produces today.

In the late 1990s Jameson started manufacturing what are regarded today as the finest quality electrician shears and splicer scissors available in the U.S. market. At this same time, the company initiated the design, development and manufacture of our aerial cable placement tools line.

2000 was a banner year for Jameson as it was the first full year in the new 50,000 square foot Clover, South Carolina plant. At the same, an innovative line of highly technical stringable shelter lights was introduced to serve the U.S. military.

Approaching six decades in business, Jameson remains committed to the same “Spirit of Innovation and Continuous Improvement” that launched the company over 50 years ago.

Cable Installation• Hang a 2nd MAN™ above drop ceiling to receive cable from supply side of pull.

Use Magnetic Handle with Leader MagnetAttach wire or pull line to leader magnet and drop through 7/8” hole. Sliding the Wall Weasel’s handle magnet on outside wall, grab the leader magnet inside the wall. Continue sliding Wall Weasel to wall opening, pulling the leader magnet through the opening.

Use Magnetic Handle with Ball ChainDrop ball chain through hole in top of wall, allowing the ring to hold chain in place. Slide Wall Weasel’s magnetic handle right to left along bottom of outside wall to grab chain inside wall. Slide Wall Weasel’s magnetic handle to wall opening, pulling chain through it.

Inductive Head PolesThe safe, efficient way to test out-of-reach cablesFiberglass foam filled pole has an Inductive Head Clamp Adapter permanently mounted to one end and a male ferrule at the other end.

The pole and adapter allow for convenient use of an Inductive Head Clamp in manholes or on poles. Access cables without climbing a pole or exhausting a manhole. Foam core prevents moisture build-up inside the pole and adds extra hoop strength and rigidity.
