Jamaican music originally formed from the native Americans who were the first people to live on the islands

Jamaican music can usually be grouped into a few major categories

These categories consist of Folk, Classical, or commercially popular.

When people think of Jamaican music they usually only think about the more modern popular music that comes from this area. The styles that were used to emerged around the 60's

There are a lot of different styles and all the islands re very creative

Sometimes Jamaican music isn't meant for beauty, it is meant for protest and social commentary.

They still use old instruments like the Jamaican drums
