Rajasthan is a magical land set amidst the desolate desert beauty. It is synonymous with romance and chivalryand is immensely rich in culture, history and natural beauty. Everything about Rajasthan fascinates frommiles of golden stretches of sand to the kaleidoscope of magnificent forts, opulent palaces and marvellous
havelies, each a splendid architectural creation having a legend of its own. The cities of Rajasthan still retainthe medieval flavour keeping alive the timeless traditions in the rich art and craft.
Ladnun, the city situated in Nagaur District is famous for Jain temples of exquisite marble work, old Dargahof Umarshah Peer and other ancient temples of pilgrimage and architectural importance and above all forJain Vishva Bharati Institute. It is the birth place of a great legendary and visionary Jain seer and saintAcharya Tulsi. The excursions from Ladnun within 40-45 kms are Dungar Balaji, Salasar Balaji Dham,Tirupati Balaji at Sujangarh. Ladnun is well connected by road from
Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer and Ahmedabad and by rail services from Delhi via Ratangarh on theDelhi-Bikaner route or via Kuchaman-Degana on the Delhi-Jodhpur route.

The academic environment on the campus fosters self-discipline promotes quality of lifeand commitment to higher values.
In todays competitive environment JVBI provides training for the improvement of communication skills,interpersonal relations, art of negotiation, decision making, development of self-confidence etc. for makingthe students able to stand in all challenging situations.

JVBI subscribes more than 150 Journals, 12000 e-journals andperiodicals. The database in the library have been computerized and the students can search using theSOUL facility. Internet and Xerox facility is also available for the students.

well as those who have passed out and are working on different positions in many academic and
co-operate sectors. JVBI organizes alumni meet every year aiming at assisting the present students, in

world.STIPEND & SCHOLARSHIPS :A limited number of merit-cum-need based scholarships are available for
deserving students. The students belong to SC/ST/OBC are provided scholarship from Social Welfare
Dept. as per State Govt. norms.

required to furnish the following details along with supporting documents on having secured
admission to the desired course :
(i) Proof of the annual income of family, (ii) Minimum 45% marks in 10 + 2 final examination.
The above scholarship is only for the first year students. The number of such scholarships are limited.

(i) Minimum 60% marks in the previous year exams (ii) Proof of family income
(ii i) Good conduct certified by principal (iv) 100% attendance in the class.
All these scholarships will contribute only towards the waiver of tuition fee and no cash rewards.
The student will have to bear other expenses.

(A) For the students of Post graduate courses (non-conventional subjects) stipends are offered to 5students per year (Rs. 1000/- p.m. for 10 months only).
(B) For M.Phil. Courses stipends of Rs. 1500/- per month for 10 months only are offered to 5 students
on merit basis only to those students who have their masters degree either in Jainology and
Comparative Religion and Philosophy or in Prakrit.
The award of stipend will be made on the recommendations of HOD and approval of Vice-
Chancellor. However every student who gets the stipend should have :
(i ) Good conduct certi fied by HOD and concerned Administrative Officers including respective
hostel wardens.
(ii) Regular attendance, which means :
(a) A student must have minimum of 75% attendance every month.
(b) If a student is admitted upto the 15th of the month he/she will be entitled for the stipend for
that month fulfilling the condition of a minimum of 75% attendance proportionately. But
if he/she is admitted after the 15th, the stipend for that month will not be granted to him/her.

2. The decision of the Vice-Chancellor shall be final i n respect of interpretation of any of the rules and
regulat ions mentioned above.

! The cost of Prospectus along with the Application Form for each course includes the Entrance Test/
Admission Procedure Fee. Application fee is to be given at the time of submission of the Application Form.! The Application Form and Prospectus may also be obtained from the office on all working days by
paying cash of Rs. 150/- or through post by sending crossed Demand D raft of an amount of Rs. 200/-drawn i n favour of Regist rar , JVBI payable at Ladnunclearly indicating the name of the course forwhich the Appli cation Form is required. ! Attendance in a four-day Preksha Meditation and Personality Development Camp is mandatory to allthe newly admitted P.G. students in Semester- I. Those who wi ll not complete this programme theirprovisional admission will automatically be cancelled.
! The list of the candidates selected for interview shall be displayed in ascending order of their EntranceTest Roll No. on the Notice Board of the Faculty/ Department/ Centre concerned as well as on the JVBIswebsite on the dates given in the admission schedule.
! In all courses admission wi ll be made on the basis of academic merit along with the marks obtained in
written test and performance at interview.! FOR MSW COURSE
Those satisfying the eligibil i ty requirements wi ll have to undergo (A) Wri tten test and (B) GroupDiscussion followed by (C) Personal Interview.
A. Written Test (100 marks): The written test aims at assessment of knowledge about contemporaryissues in the field and sensitivity to social issues. The duration of written test is 2 hours. The test willhave four sections as given below.

RULES REGARDING ADMISSION! All the selected candidates are required to submit Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate in original at

! A student of other than I Year/Previous Year/I Semester of any course who has not taken examinations due toshortage of attendance may be given re-admission in the same class of that course. In case, he/she fails tofulfill the requirement of attendance after being given re-admission he/she shall not be given another chance.

5% seats to be embarked for children of Indian workers in the Gulf and South East Asia out of the 15%supernumerary seats for admission to foreign students in Institute's departments.
ATTENDANCE
! Students shall be required to be regular in their classes and attend not less than 75% of the aggregate oflectures/ tutorials/ practical of all compulsory/ optional/ honours and subsidiary subjects in order to beeligible to appear in the annual/semester examinations. Any student having less than 75% attendance willnot be allowed to appear in the written examination.
! Attendance of the students shall be counted from the date of admission in the respective course.
! If a student is found to be continuously absent from the class without information for a period of 7 daysor more his/her name shall be struck off the rolls.
! Request for relaxation in attendance on account of participation in the official functions or N.C.C., N.S.S.,Institute Sports and other activities organized by the Institute must be sent to the Head of theDepartment/Principal within 15 days of the function/activi ty.
! However, shortfall of 5% attendance can be condoned by the Head of the Department /Principal onaccount of sickness provided by the student the sickness and fitness certificate from a Registered MedicalPracti tioner within seven days from recovery or on account of any other extenuating circumstancessupported by documentary evidence. The conduct of the student wil l be highly recommended.Condonation upto another 5%, may be considered by the Vice Chancellor on account of any othercircumstances provided that the request is duly supported by documentary evidence and stronglyrecommended by HOD/Principal concerned.
! It is mandatory for the students to be present on the last working day on the commencement of vacationand on the fi rst day after the vacation. The student may seek pr ior permission from the Head of theDepartment concerned under the extraordinary circumstances.
! Only for MSW Students :
(i ) Every student is expected to maintain full attendance in the class as well as in social work practicum.A student must secure a minimum of 75% attendance in aggregate to be eligible to appear in thesemester-end examination
(i i) In case of social work practicum a student is required to have a minimum 90% attendance, in eachsemester, failing which he/she will be debarred to appear in written examinations.
(iii) Attendance in Block Placement, Study Tours and Observation Visits etc. is compulsory for all students.
RE-ADMISSION
! If a student remains absent for consecutively seven days without leave/permission, his/her name shall bestruck off the rolls by the Department concerned and i t will be conveyed to the office of the competentauthority on the same day or latest by the next day.
! Such a student may, however, apply to the Vice-Chancellor through Head of the Dept./Principal for re-admission within 7 days from the date of issuance of notice of strucking off the name.
! The re-admission shall be effected as per norms by paying the normal admission fee and Rs. 300/- extra asa fine. If the name of the student is struck off on any other ground the same fee of re-admission would beapplicable to him/her also.

RULES RELATED TO HOSTEL ACCOMMODATION
! The students desirous to be admitted in the hostels should contact Warden of concerned hostel at Institute.
! Students allotted a seat in the hostel are required to pay Rs. 8000/- (Girls Hostel) and Rs. 6000/- (BoysHostel) per annum for all courses in advance. The particulars regarding rules, fees etc., are given in theHostel Bye-Laws.
! No hostel facility will be given to part-t ime students and distance mode students.
! Hostel & Library security wi ll be refunded at the time of leaving the Institute on producing no dues
certificates from the sections concerned & original receipt of security paid.! Information regarding hostel fee is given under the head fee structure
RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING CARE OF EQUIPMENTS
! Equipments will be issued by the Store's officer to the students on due authorization by the teacher concerned.
! Each student to whom equipment has been issued will have to sign a receipt.
! Any physical damage to equipments will be the direct responsibility of the students/group of students inwhose name equipments are issued.
! Students returning the equipment after the due date will be fined by late fee.
! Students must immediately inform the maintenance staff and teacher, of any faults they experience while
handling the equipments.! If a student loses or damages equipment issued to him or her, he or she should immediately inform the office
i.e. Stores/Faculty/ Administration giving full details of circumstances leading to the loss or damage of equipment.
! Student who has lost or damaged the equipment will be required to replace it within reasonable time, theidentical piece(s) or part of the equipment or pay the current market value of the equipment. Failingthis, student will not be permitted to attend the classes and not be allowed to appear in the examinationand his/her admission can also be cancelled. Simultaneously, the loss or theft of equipment will bereported to the police.
! In case of damage or loss to any equipment by students working in a group, the fine will be leviedcollectively on the assigned group.
! At the time of admission an undertaking will also be taken from the student to this effect.
STUDENT'S DISCIPLINE
! Every student should maintain the discipline of institute.
! No student is allowed to visit places or areas declared by the competent authority as Out of Bounds forthe students.
! Every student is required to carry his / her Ident ity Card issued by the competent authority. Everystudent, who has been issued the Identity Card shall have to produce or surrender the Identity Card, asand when required by the Proctorial Staff, Teaching and Library Staff and the Officials of the Institute.
! Any student found guilty of impersonation or of giving a false name or found guilty of forgery shall beliable to disciplinary action.
! The loss of the Identity Card, whenever it occurs, shall immediately be reported in writing to the

BREACH OF DISCIPLINE INCLUDES
! Use of Non-vegetarian food items, Smoking, Tobacco and any intoxicants.
! Irregularity in attendance.

Causing disturbance to classes, offices, libraries, auditoriums, play grounds etc.! Misconduct or Misbehavior of any nature at the time of meetings, during curricular or extra-curricular
activit ies of the Insti tute.
! Misconduct or Misbehavior of any nature at the examination centre.
! Misconduct or Misbehavior of any nature towards a teacher or any employee of the Institute or anyvisitor to the Insti tute.
! Causing damage to the property of the Institute.
! Giving publicity to misleading accounts or rumours amongst the students.
! Refusing to produce or surrender the Identity Card as and when required by competent authority andother staff of the Insti tute.
! Students found guilty of breach of discipline shall be liable to such punishment, as fine, campus ban,expulsion or rustication.
! All powers relating to discipline and disciplinary action in relation to student shall vest in Vice-Chancellor. However, the Vice-Chancellor may delegate all or any of his/her powers as he/she deemsproper to the competent authori ty.
AWARD OF DEGREE
! Students who have successfully completed the programmes of study will be awarded degrees at theConvocation. If convocation is not organized then degrees will be distributed from the counter after itsapproval by concerned statutory body.
! The Examination Result is displayed in the Institutes websitehttp://www.jvbi.ac.in.
INFORMATION REGARDING DISTANCE EDUCATIONADMISSION & REGISTRATION
! Duly filled-in application form along with two photographs, copies of marksheets, certificates and aDemand Draft for the requisite fee should reach JVBI, Ladnun on or before the due dates mentioned inthe prospects.
! The application forms received after the due date or found incomplete are liable to be summarilyrejected and no correspondence in this regard shall be made by the Institute.
! After the scrutiny of the admission forms, the candidates will be enrolled by the Institute. Identity cardwill be sent to them.
! The applicants are advised to send their application forms by registered post only .
! If a candidate remains absent in the annual examination, he/she may be allowed to continue his/herstudies in the same class in the very next subsequent year only with latest syllabus prescribed. For this he/she will have to pay Rs. 1000/- for renewal.
STUDY MATERIAL & SESSIONAL WORK
! After the enrolment of the candidate, the syllabus and most of the study materials of each subject/paperwill be sent in first installment and rest will be sent in second installment. Each student of U.G. & P.G. willbe sent two sessional works (question Papers) and each student of M.A./M.Sc. in Science of Living will besent one sessional work based on the syllabus of each subject/paper. CONTACT CLASSES
A. Practical-cum-Contact Classes for M.A./M.Sc. in SOL, PM & Yoga :
! Every student will have to compulsorily participate in practical-cum-contact classes for onemonth to be organised at Ladnun in between the months of March to June.
! There may be other centres also depending upon the sufficient number of students and theavailability of the faculty and other resources.
! For attending the contact classes the candidates have to bear the expenses of board and Lodging
on their own. During this period the students will be assigned practical work and also to solvetheir difficulties related to theory part to all possible extent.
B. Contact Classes for Other Courses :
! Contact Classes for B.A./B.Com. and M.A. wi ll be conducted for ten days mainly at Ladnuncentre. These may be organised at other centres also on the availability of resources anddepending upon sufficient number of students.
! For the students of B.A. offering Science of Living as one of the optional subjects, the practicaltraining wil l be given during the period of contact classes.
C. Contact Classes for B. Lib and I. Sc. :Contact Classes for B. Lib. & I. Sc. will be conducted for fifteen days at Ladnun.
COMMON RULES FOR ALL THE CONTACT CLASSES! All the students are required to attend the contact classes.! The examination of practical papers will be conducted at the end of contact classes.! TRANSPORTATION
(a) In case of any emergency if the Institute's Bus is not available for any unforeseen reasons, students will
have to visit concurrent field work areas at their own cost or own means.
(b) Observation visits/field trips/rural & urban camps/study tour fee will be charged separately on the basis
of actual expenses.

Note: (i) Full concession in Tuition fee in the Regular Course shall be granted to the Staff & their spouse and
two dependent children of the staff members of the JVBI drawing basic pay less than Rs. 8000 p.m.
(i i) Concession of 50 % in the Tuition fee be granted to the Staff & their spouse and two dependent
children of the staff members of the JVBI drawing basic pay exceeding Rs. 8000 p.m.
(iii) Full concession in fee for correspondence course is granted to the JVBI staff & their spouse andtwo dependent children and 25% for JVB Staff. Only study material cost will be taken from the
said students.
(iv) Sadhus/Sadhvis/Saman/Samanis etc., who have renounced the worldly possessions are exempted
from paying any kind of fee.
(v) Fee will be paid once at the ti me of admission. Fee once deposited, wi ll not be refunded
in any case.
(vi) In case a student is found ineligible, his/her programme fee will be refunded after making a
deduction of 15%. It wil l be done within six month of cancellation otherwise no claim will be
entertained.

(vii) In the event of a student/candidate withdrawing before the starting of the course, the waitl isted
candidates should be given admission against the vacant seat. The entire fee collected from the
student, after a deduction of the processing fee of not more than Rs. 1000/- (one thousand only)
shall be refunded to the student/candidate. In case a student leaves after joining the course and the
seat consequently falling vacant is fi lled by another candidate by the last date fixed for admission,
the fee collected from the earli er candidate will be refunded proport ionately after deducting
monthly fee and hostel rent where applicable.
(viii) The commencement of any regular course or any subject or any paper of the course is subject to
the enrolment of a minimum number of students. The decision of the competent authority will be final.
(ix) The Institute reserves the right to revise the fees, etc., from time to time.
